"And remember, no powers." the referee repeated.
They passed and we finally started, as the crowd started to cheering.
They'd seconds with the ball. Soon, the ball was with us.
We passed it to the defenders, so that we could build up from the back. Soon I'd the ball, controlled under my feet.
I zoomed with speed pass all the players in front of me, but the referee blew his whistle.
"No powers. Do it again, and you'll get a yellow card." he warned.
Now, the opponent had a free kick advantage.
They shot a through pass straight to their strikers, but our defenders attacked and got the ball. They just kicked the ball into the middle of the pitch. Still in the air, one of the players of our opponents flew into the air and got the ball.
He's using his power.
I chased him in the air and finally got the ball, then I passed to a Grade 9 student who pulled the trigger to score, but the opponent's defender caused a small wall to rise from the floor, and the ball fell short, hitting the wall.
"Hey! No powers!" the referee yelled but we didn't listen, and even worse, the cheering became louder when they saw that guy use his power.
Our opponents shot the ball in the air, but Steven shot the ball with a little fire and the ball fell right in front of him. He passed to me, and I teleported to the corner of the whole pitch.
"I said no powers!"
We still ignored him.
Now, I'd to give the crossing. I kicked the ball, but it went too far. Christopher chased the ball with lightning speed. I guess speed was his power.
Wait. Christopher is playing? Surprises, surprises.
Anyway, he successfully got the ball and made a crossing, again, but this time, it was better, and the ball went towards Steven, since he was opened, and he took the shot.
The ball made its way through the defenders and when it was halfway to the keeper, fire appeared behind it, but the keeper blew air from his mouth, to the ball and the ball landed slowly in his arm.
At this point, the referee collapsed on the ground, but we were all too focused on the game to stop even for a second to help him.
The opposing team's striker started to speed up to our pole, but unfortunately for him, my speed was back.
I raced with him, across the pitch, and finally caught the ball, but he laser shot my leg and collected the ball. There was no point staying down, because the referee had collapsed.
Immediately, I got up and found my way in front of him again and saw his face.
Wasn't he the same guy who was flying, speeding, and now laser shooting. Is he a destroyer like I am?
He smirked and threw his leg, but I also threw mine and our legs collided.
*****
"You destroyed the pitch! The whole pitch!" Miss Zing yelled angrily at Steven and I "And our school was disqualified from the inter-schools competition."
When our legs collided, it created a shock wave strong enough to destroy the whole place. Good thing 98% of the audience were Titans, else somebody may have died. And the humans, including the referee, who'd collapsed, where protected by the Titans.
"What have I got to do with it?" Steven asked.
"Quiet!" Miss Zing yelled "You two are suspended, for 2 months."
"Miss Zing. Please." I begged.
I wasn't caring about me being suspended. The only thing I cared about was what Mom would say.
"Okay. I've got another punishment." she said and I hoped it wasn't expelling "You two will scrub the toilet for 2, no 4 months, starting from tomorrow."
Oooh. That's worse.
"Okay." we agreed, and left her office.
*****
"They destroyed the pitch." Elsa told Terra, with a loud chuckle "You should've been there."
"Tony. Is that true?" she asked but I didn't answer "Tony." she called again and my mind came back to reality.
"There was another destroyer between the players. Terra, you told me we were the only destroyer."
"In the C.F.G.T, we are. In the world, there are more." she answered.
"Terra. Don't tell Mom." I pleaded.
"My lips are sealed." she said, with a cute smile.
*****
"How was the game?" Mom asked when we got home "Who won?"
"We lost." I answered walking upstairs with Terra.
"Awww. I was preparing a surprise party."
***
"I . . . don't get it. Why did you tell her you lost?" Terra asked falling on her bed.
"If I told her we won, she would be expecting another game." I answered.
"Oh."
"Won't you go help Mom cook?" I asked her.
"Naah. I'm tired." she answered "I'll let her do it this time."
I giggled and jumped unto her bed.
"Teach me how to make frozen objects." I demanded excitedly.
"It's not easy. First, you've got to learn how to control water."
"What about fire?" I asked again "I know how to control that."
She sighed, but then she leaned over to teach me.
"Control a ball of fire to rise in your arm." she commanded and I did the same "Now imagine a weapon."
Suddenly, the fire started moulding itself into a sniper, but when it was done, there were some parts missing.
"Why? What happened?" I asked her.
"Did you think it was just the work of imagination? You've to get the right amount of fire in your arm to make the object you've imagined complete." she explained.
I forced more fire out of my arm to fill out the port holes in the gun.
"Cool!" I said "But it's not as hard as you make it seem."
I mistakenly pulled the trigger, and the sniper shot a bullet into the wall.
"Nice going, Tony. You just created a hole in the wall. If Mom finds out, you're toast."
"Tony!" Mom called "Supper is ready."
We raced downstairs to the kitchen.
*****
"Good night, Terra." I bade us we both yawned.
"Love you 3000." she said resting her head on her palm.
"3000?" I whispered to myself, with a short chuckle.
