1. Going down to the beach had always been a relaxing thing for you, hours spent either swimming, strolling the sand or just simply listening to the waves. As a kid, you would even come back home to your parent(s) and tell them all sorts of fantastical stories about the mermaid you were friends with who would visit you all the time at the beach. But as the years went by, you went to the beach less and less as life got in the way. Now, having just graduated high school and celebrating with your friends with a massive beach party, you decide to sneak away for old times sake to visit the dock you played at as a kid. Wait... did you hear singing?
2. Going up to the surface always involved a lot of risk but you loved it anyways, often heading up to see how close you could get to the humans without them noticing. Turns out, pretty dang close was the answer. This trip, however, was different. Why? Because you had gone and gotten yourself trapped in a lagoon, a large reef preventing you from going back home. Just as you're contemplating how to get past it, you're confronted with a voice from behind you. Oh, you were definitely in for it now
