No one's POV :
Impossible.
In Sana's mind it was impossible.
She had lost that hope so long ago. It had been ages that the thought of her mother being alive hadn't crossed her mind.
The days following her sixteenth birthday, she was sure it was a lie. He wouldn't have killed her, he wouldn't have.
Weeks later she had gotten used to waking up without her mother's smile.
Months later she'd still keep their traditions alive, eating fish on Fridays, reading one afternoon a week...
Years later, she would at times find herself dreaming that it was all fake. That her beloved mother would come find her.
And here she was. 7 years later. Her mother, right in front of her.
She couldn't believe her eyes, she couldn't think. Was it all just a dream ?
"Sana, my dear Sana... I'm so sorry I didn't come find you earlier I cou-
She was interrupted by a body crashing into hers, Sana's body.
"Is this a dream, just another one of my dreams where you're still alive ?"
"No baby, I'm here"
Sana had never held someone so tightly in her life. She was squeezing the little body as hard as she could. Like her mother would disappear if she didn't.
"How is this possible ? How are you here ?"
Her mother gently pushed her away. She held her arms, gently caressing them "I will explain everything I promise, but for now we should all go sleep"
"No. For seven years I thought you were dead. Why aren't you ? Tell me, now"
Her mother looked down and sighed "alright. It's 3AM, everyone I suppose you can keep this party going you'll all be tired tomorrow anyways" they all thanked her "let's go talk somewhere else Sana" she took her daughter's hand in her own and headed towards the door.
"Oh hang on just a second" Sana said. Her mother looked at her questioningly, Sana ran towards Dahyun "I'll find you later okay ?"
Dahyun smiled and nodded. Sana then ran back towards her mother and held her hand.
They left the room.
"So, that pale girl, is she your girlfriend ?" Sana blushed and smiled.
"Ahem, uh no, she's not, I mean we're not..."
"But you like her?" It was more an affirmation than a question. Sana sighed longly.
"Is it that obvious ?" Her mother just smiled as an answer.
"Alright let's go in here" she opened a door. Is was a relaxation room. The sat on a couch.
"On the night of your sixteenth birthday, your father did not order to kill me, to state the obvious.
I was knocked out...
At that time in the cafeteria...
Chaeyoung approaches Mina who was pouring herself another drink "Mina can we talk please?"
Mina sighed "I'm sorry for saying it like that, I just couldn't hold it in anymore"
"Maybe we could go somewhere a little less crowded"
"No" Chaeyoung seemed annoyed at Mina's refusal "not now, Sana just found her mother. She might need us afterwards. I want to talk, I really do" she grabbed Chaeyoung's hand "but there are more important things right now. We'll have plenty of time tomorrow" Chaeyoung caresses the back of Mina's hand with her thumb.
