Diana's POVI paced back and forth outside Room 624 while fiddling with my phone. This is the room where we had our Operations Management class and the same room where Franki and I will defend our finals project.
I told Franki to meet me an hour before our scheduled presentation. It's only a couple of minutes past one in the afternoon and it's still early, but I couldn't help but feel anxious while waiting for Franki's arrival.
I know we had a great talk last night and she promised to be on time, but for someone who's going through an emotional stage in her life, nothing's certain.
"Diana!"
I let out a deep sigh upon seeing her.
"Worried I wouldn't show up?" She grinned while approaching me.
"Just a tiny bit", I squinted my eyes and put my index finger and thumb close to each other, "But I trust you." I smiled.
"Well I actually got here before you did," she smiled back, "But I saw you weren't here yet so I decided to buy us some drinks from Starbucks."
"Here," she handed me a drink, "Signature Iced Chocolate, your favorite." She winked at me.
We started walking towards a nearby bench and sat there.
"You know my favorite?" I smiled.
"Of course," she nodded her head, "I still remember some things from using my getting-to-know-Diana-through-Kiara privilege card." She chuckled. "Too bad that one expired already."
"I had the same card! Only it's called, getting-to-know-Franki-through-Kiara privilege card." We both laughed. "We could've learned more of each other if Kiara never found out about what we're really up to." I shook my head while smiling.
"Well..." she paused, "I think it's a good thing we can do that on our own now, right Dmac?"
"Dmac?" I furrowed my brows.
"Yep, a nickname. Friends give each other nicknames right?"
"So... we're friends now?"
She shrugged her shoulders, "Only if you want to."
"I would love that."
"Good answer," she gave a satisfied smile, "So, got any nicknames for your new friend?"
"Hmm..." I tilt my head to one side while doing a thinking gesture, "How about, Miss Franki?"
"So formal naman po!" She protested, "But I like it. It's cute. And I think you're the only one who's going to call me that."
We smiled at each other and took a sip from our drinks.
"Diana, thank you for last night." Her tone suddenly became serious. "I felt a lot better."
"I'm glad." I replied.
"And thank you also for driving me home last night", she continued, "I'm sorry if I fell asleep during the ride though."
I shook my head, "No, thank you."
She gave a confused look.
"Thank you, because it was a very peaceful drive." I suppressed a laugh.
