Diana's POV

With my flip-flops on my left hand, I let my bare feet feel the cold, white and powdery sand as I walk along the beach. The sound of waves crashing against the shore and the feeling of cool breeze against my skin made me stop on my tracks as I recalled my conversation with Kiara a few moments ago.

📞 phone conversation with Kiara

"The doctor said it's called retrograde amnesia," sadness was evident in her voice. "It means that her most recent memories are the ones that got affected by her brain injury. She can remember everything from her childhood up until her days as an Art student at University of Sunedin. Unfortunately, she has forgotten the last five years of her life."

"Including me," I said weakly.

"Yes, Diana." she sighed. "She didn't want us to tell her anything about her past unless she asked for it. And that's why she has no idea about you."

"Now I understand why she's acting that way. Kiara, I didn't—" I paused and breathed deeply. "I had no idea."

"I'm sorry if I just told you now. I didn't know where to contact you."

"It's my fault, Kia. I shouldn't have asked you to cut off our communication after Franki and I broke up. I'm sorry too if didn't even inform you that I already went back here in the Philippines."

"I understand, Dee. I knew how hard it was for you; you just did what you had to do."

There was a long silence as I tried to absorb everything that Kiara's telling me.

"Diana? Are you still there?"

"Mhm. I am." I mindlessly nod my head.

"Dee, you should also know that prior to her accident, Franki already told her dad about your past."

"She did?"

"Yes. And Tito Jack wants you to know that he's giving you his blessing to tell Franki the truth about you two— that is if you want to."

"But I thought Franki doesn't want to know?"

She sighed deeply, "I know Franki said that, but the ball's in your court now, Dee. We will support whatever your decision will be."

"But..." I furrowed my brows, "What about Sky? Are they really broken up?"

"Yes they are. Did she tell you that?"

"Yeah. This whole time I thought that's the reason why she's here."

"I'm guessing she just used that as an excuse. She wanted to get away from here," she let out a soft laugh. "She doesn't even recall being in a relationship with him. But she knows Sky and she got curious so she asked him a few things about them."

"I can't believe this."

"She's always loved you, you know?"

I closed my eyes tightly and I pressed my lips inwardly as I tried to control my emotions.

"I know I don't have to say this but, please take care of Franki while she's there?"

I nodded my head, "Of course, I will."
