Diana's POV"Hello Mommy?" I held the phone closer to my ear as I pressed the going up button of the elevator, "Yes, I'm in Manila now. I'm sorry I won't be able to go home to Cabanatuan muna. I'll leave for Cebu tomorrow morning."
*ding*
The elevator door opened and with my luggage in tow, I got inside and pressed the 24th floor.
"Mommy nasa lift ako, baka mawala signal. Anyway, I'll call you again later. I just have to do something important. Love you."
I ended the call and looked at myself in the mirror. I fixed my hair, checked my brows then breathed deeply.
I just landed an hour ago and I decided to go straight here at Franki's condo. I need to talk to her before I leave for Cebu. There are a lot of things that I have to tell her and it cannot wait anymore. I finally reached her floor then I stepped outside the elevator and walked towards her unit.
I knocked on her door and waited.
"Franki?" A few more knocks and still no response.
I pressed my ear against her door, trying to listen if I'll hear something from the other side but I didn't. I then took out my phone and called her.
The number you have dialed cannot be reached. Please try again later.
"What?" I furrowed my brows in frustration and attempted to call her again but to no avail.
I glanced around the hallway, hoping that she'll magically appear any second. I even tried to call Kiara but she couldn't be reached as well. I waited for a couple more minutes before I finally decided to leave.

"One Grande Iced Caramel Macchiato for Diana!" the barista at Starbucks shouted.
I walked towards the counter, smiled and thanked the barista then got my drink. I head over to an empty table on the corner of the coffee shop and sat. I took my phone out and read a text message from Gino.
📱 Gino: Hey, Dee! You in Manila now? I'm still here at my house but I'm leaving for the resort in about thirty minutes. As per your request, I already told the driver to have a car wait for you at the port when you arrive tomorrow. See you soon!
I took a sip from my drink before typing in my reply.
📱 Me: Yes. Arrived a few hours ago. Staying at a hotel tonight. Thank you, Gino. I'll see you tomorrow. Ingat ka.
✅ Message sent.
"Diana?"
I lifted my gaze and locked eyes with someone.
"Sky?"
"Hi," he let out a soft smile, "May I?" he pointed at the empty chair in front of me.
"Sure," I replied flatly.
He sat on the chair and placed his coffee on my table. Then there was an awkward silence. I suddenly regretted letting him sit with me but I couldn't say no so now we're here.
"So," he finally broke the silence, "How are you?"
I raised my eyebrows and I'm pretty sure I made a 'are you serious/are we close?' expression on my face. Nevertheless, I answered,
"I'm good."
He nods his head while obviously trying to think of what to say next.
This is really awkward. We've only met thrice, I think. The first time was at Candelir when Franki and I were celebrating our one-year anniversary and the next time I saw him was when Franki's dad got hospitalized. He's a nice guy, I know, but he dated my ex so I don't really know what he wants from me. I'm hoping someone would call me on my phone right now so I can use it as an excuse to leave.
