The apartment was the exact same as I left it—the slight mess of the entryway where Haru's shoes were scattered around. Blankets are strewn all over the back of the light blue couch. As I opened the door to my bedroom, the dust that settled stirred up, floating through the air. The curtains pulled back, so the late afternoon light was casting an orange glow over everything. I missed this.
"How was your flight?"
I turn around to see Haru smiling widely at me. I drop my bag, hugging each other tightly, "I missed you, Haru!"
"I'm glad you're back. I was bored just hanging out with Minjun all the time."
"Is he coming tonight?"
"Yeah, he's bringing chicken! We figured you wouldn't want to go out since you were on a flight for seventeen hours."
"You guys are the best."
"Tell me about America! How is your family? I saw you had dinner with the guys on your Insta," she said.
We head back downstairs and sit on the couch, talking about what we did for the past few months. Haru got a job at the cafe down the street and made a few other friends that work there. I told her how Kaylee and I worked on the farm and spent most of my off time with her while we drove around and took pictures for her portfolio.
"Is that how you have all those amazing pictures of you on your Insta?" she asked with wide eyes.
"Yeah, Kaylee helped me make sure I kept an 'aesthetic' so I can gain even more followers."
"I need her to help me. I'm a lost cause when it comes to that," Haru pouted.
Both of our heads turn when we hear the door open and Minjun walks in soaked. His now pink hair fell over his eyes in long strands and he had an annoyed pout as he kicked off of his shoes, "I wish I would have checked the weather sooner. Now Mel's food is all wet-" he stops when our eyes meet. Quickly putting down the bag of food, he rushed over to me.
"I thought you weren't supposed to be here until later?" he asked.
"I just got here around twenty minutes ago," I said, laughing as he pulled me up and into his wet arms. He looks at his watch before cursing under his breath.
"I didn't realize it was already past eight. I left the office later than usual."
I pull away as I make him follow me upstairs to get him a towel, "The office? Did you find a permanent job?"
He starts shaking out his hair as his smile never leaves his face, "I got hired at BigHit."
"Full time?"
"Full time! I'm even helping with their new album, so I'll be going on tour with them next year!"
"Minjun, oh my god! That's so amazing!" I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him into a kiss. His hands instantly went to my waist and pulled me closer to his body. He sighed into the kiss and we both relaxed against each other. The familiarity of his lips made me smile as we pulled away from each other.
