When I thought this school year would be better than the last, I was dead wrong. All of my classes were harder than expected, plus I had more homework than my first two semesters combined. The chair test results were in. Luckily, I didn't gain or lose any chairs, but I felt like they were being too nice by giving me 6th chair again. Haru got second and even has a duet in the next concert. Oh, and I haven't talked to my best friend since I found out he likes me.

"Melody, go home."

I look up from my textbook to see Haru with her hands on her hips in her cafe apron. I look at the clock and turn back to my book, "You guys don't close for another two hours."

"Yes, but I'm tired of you spending all week here. You've spent so much money on coffee."

"I've also gotten a lot of homework done. Even next weeks!"

"Wow! Congrats! Now go the fuck home!" Haru threw over her shoulder as she walked away, "If you don't, I'm calling Jungkook."

"Fine! Fine."

I gather all of the papers and textbooks that were spread all over the table, shrugging on my backpack, and leaving the small cafe. The sky rumbled, then exploded with rain while I was still a few blocks away from the apartment. I took off running, but it was pointless to even hurry since I was drenched in the first five seconds. I was cursing the sky as I slipped off my wet shoes in the entryway of my apartment. I drop my bag on the kitchen table and pray that most of the contents inside stayed dry. I hear someone clear their throat, and I can't help but scream as I see someone sitting on my couch.

"Holy shit, Bun! You scared me!"

"Sorry," he mumbled as he got up and slowly walked over to me.

"What are you doing here?"

"We haven't talked in almost a week. I missed my best friend."

"Well, I had some shit to think through."

"And did you think it through?" he asked.

I sat down and put my head in my hands. To be completely honest, I didn't think about it at all. I tried my hardest not to think about it.

"Actually, don't tell me. Let's get you out of those clothes and into a hot shower," he said, grabbing my hand and pulling me up. He dragged me to the bathroom before turning on the shower to the hottest setting, "I'll bring you some clothes. Just get in."

I didn't say anything as the door shut, so I slowly undressed. When the scorching water hit my skin, I sighed. I stayed under the running water until I heard Bun come back in and then leave again. I closed my eyes as the heat relaxed my body but made my mind explode with every memory I tried to run away from this week. My tears mix with the running water as I realize I may lose my best friend if we have this conversation, and I'm not ready for it, but Bun deserves this. Whether I want it or not.
