we got to ethan's apartment and knocked. brittany opened the door and looked me up and down. grayson grabbed my hand and i shoulder checked her on my way in.
"hey e can we talk to you alone?"
"no gray you tell him i want to talk britt." i said and he kissed me
i walked over to brittany
"brittany."
"kai."
"what did i do to you?" i hated this. for the last 3 months i have felt like shit because what she did to me. i need closure.
"i already told you. you went after grayson." she said
"you hesitated and i know when you lie. your not doing a good job."
"look i cheated on ethan and i wanted to blame it on you. i feel like a shitty person. i don't want him finding out." she said
the boys came out and ethan looked pissed. brittany looked at me.
"you told him!" she said
"what else did you want me to do! let ethan find out later after he raises your kid? who's kid is brittany?"
"cole."
"i thought you didn't know!"
"i got a paternity test. he didn't want ethan to know we were still in school and then he graduated and he's in college. ethan i'm sorry!"
"how could you be sorry? you told me you cheated on me and i forgave you! now i'm raising yours and coles kid!"
"ethan i'm sorry. if i could take it back i would!"
"you lied to me and said it was only a kiss because 'you were caught in the moment'. i can't believe you. leave."
"what about kaden?" i said
"i'll take him." britt said
"no. your not ready to be a mother brittany." ethan said
brittany left and slammed the door on her way out. kaden started crying. i went to go get him and ethan got mad.
"kai if you want him just take him. your always in the middle of something." he said
"ethan i-"
"no kai. we named him after you, why don't you just take him."
"ethan i know your upset right now b-"
"kai i'm more than upset. i-" i handed kaden off to grayson
i hugged ethan and he started crying in my shoulder. we were like that until he stopped crying. his eyes were puffy and he looked pale. grayson and i switched places so i could get kaden ready for bed. while i was doing that grayson talked to ethan.
graysons pov
"grayson what should i do?" i saw the pain in his eyes. he's heartbroken.
"e what do you want to do? there's only 2 options; you keep him and tell him when he's 18 or put him up for adoption." i said almost whispering the last part
"i want him. i've been doing it for a year i can handle it." he was excited and happy again
"good because he'll forever be a dolan." i said and hugged my brother
on cue kai came in here with kaden wrapped in a cute towel. she got him changed and dressed. ethan stepped up and helped her put him to sleep.
ethan's pov
"thank you kai. from the bottom of my heart i want to say thank you and apologize for how i acted." i said
"e it's fine i would be pissed off too, your fine okay." she smiled at me and hugged me
"okay kai enough hugging my brother. my turn." he said laughing
"no. it's kadens turn." she said and picked up
"hug?" he said
"hug?" she said and hugged him
graysons so lucky and blessed to have kai. they might fight sometimes but they are what true love looks like. kai and grayson are so good with kaden.
"ethan take your kid. it's my birthday" kai said
"happy birthday kai. i love you." i said
"i love you too stupid." she said
after that they left.
kais pov
it's definitely not my best birthday, but one to remember. grayson and i get home and go to my room to lay down. my dad stopped us before we went upstairs.
"wait!" he said mad
"dad what?"
"happy birthday princess. we're about to do presents."
"presents? from who?"
"me, olivia, lisa, ethan, and grayson." he said in a duh tone
"i didn't ask anyone for anyth-"
"oh well."
i sat on graysons lap while i opened them. i opened olivias first and she got me a necklace. i opened ethan's and he got me a picture frame with a picture of kaden, grayson, ethan, and i that said family. my dad gave me money and a taser. lisa got me a case of white claw as a joke. i mean i guess she found out about that one night. grayson got lazy and put a key in a box.
"happy birthday princess." he said
"what is it?"
"a key."
"OH MY GOD ARE WE GETTING AN APARTMENT?!" i said
"yes. we move in tomorrow and that's not the real key." he said and laughed.
"let's go you have to help me pack." i said grabbing his hand going upstairs
"grayson."
"what?"
"it's going to be weird living together. not just here in my room with my lights."
"you'll get used to it. did you figure out what you wanted to do?"
"yeah i think i'm going to go into real estate."
"that's actually a good idea babe."
"i know." i said
"i love you kai."
"i love you too grayson."
