Someday, everything will make perfect sense and you won't feel so lost. So for now, let go of your fears, smile through the tough times and know that everything happens for a reason.

Isabella's POV

I don't think anyone understood how stressful it was to explain what was going on in my head, when I didn't even know anything myself.

I got up in a dim lit room yet again, and this time I got looks of fear that confused me. People walked around me as though I were a rabid animal needed to be dealt with caution, or I would jump up and hurt someone.

A maid had come in and placed a tray of food on the centre table. She ran out as quickly as she came in.

Tired and hungry, I quickly finished the food, then decided to freshen up and take a walk in the garden.

I had been walking through the gardens for quite some time, when I saw Ari. I called out to her, "Hey Ari, care to join me for a walk?"

She was standing by the first floor balcony, looking out lost in thought. She looked at me and quickly looked away. "No, uh, I've got some work to do. I'll see you around later." She didn't meet my eyes the whole time and quickly walked away.

I decided to go to the kitchen to get myself some water. Somehow, without any reason, my throat seemed to be parched.

Mom was making something in the kitchen and from the smell that was wafting through my nostrils, it was likely to be mom's famous lasagna recipe.

I cleared my throat and opened the fridge to get a bottle of water for myself. Mom turned around startled and stuttered, "Uh, hi honey, would you like to have some? Dinner is almost done. I, uh, I should go get everyone else."

"Mom, wait. Aren't we going to the pack house to have dinner?" We usually went to the pack house for dinner, more so to bond with everyone in the pack. It was pretty rare that we ate dinner at home.

"No, Alessio is not well. So everyone thought of just staying home and having dinner."

"Alessio is not well? What happened to him. Is he okay? Is he hurt?" I couldn't stop the questions coming out of my mouth. My brother and I were very close, so were me and Ari.

"I...it's nothing. He'll be fine soon. I should go get everyone else for dinner now." Saying that, she left as quickly as she could without running.

All of this was so frustrating. Ugh!

Everyone was avoiding me like the plague. I'm sure Alessio would be able to tell me what this was all about. I just have to find him.

I decided to go to his room since that's where people are if they're not well. I knocked on his door, "Alessio, open up. I need to ask you something. It's important."

I was met with silence.

"Alessio, come on. Just open the damn door. I know you're sick, but atleast let me in. There's something I need to talk about."

Nothing.

I went to bang on the door and it creaked open. Confused, I looked inside and saw that the beds were made. It looked like no one had slept in here last night. I looked around and I still didn't see him anywhere. Not in the bathroom or in the closet, and definitely not on or under the bed.

I looked around in the hallways and in the rooms, wherever I thought he could be. I finally sighed as I leaned against a wall and closed my eyes. Where could he be?

I felt a small hand settle on my shoulder. I opened my eyes to look at the person invading my space.

Theodora.

"What...don't..don't touch me!"

"Calm down my dear. I just came here to tell you that there's no use searching for Alessio all around the house. He is in the pack
infirmary."

"The pack infirmary? Why though? Mom just told me he was a little sick."

All of a sudden all the memories from this morning, hit me like a ton of bricks.

"What did I....what happened...where is he?" I was freaking out now, frantically moving around.

"Thea..."

"Huh?"

She cleared her throat, "Bella, I'm going to tell you something, but promise me not to react too harshly to it." She extended her hand for me to place mine into it.

"I..I promise."

"Yesterday, you remember what happened, don't you?"

"Yes." I hung my head low.

"When you threw him across the hallway, his vocal chords and spine got hurt in the process. His neck is badly bruised, and we had to do a few spells to make sure he was stabilized, since he was in a critical condition. He will be fine, but it will take a few days even with the werewolf healing." Her eyes showed sympathy and at that moment, I felt as if a cold bucket of water was poured over my head.

The stares, the looks of fear, the avoiding, it all made sense now. I had to go visit Alessio, I had to apologize and let him know that I didn't do it intentionally, I would never.

I straightened, from where I was leaning against the wall and started speed walking towards the infirmary.

Theodora called out,"Be careful my child, for not everyone is quite looking forward to a visit from you." I nodded without looking back.

The infirmary was bustling with nurses running around and doctors clutching writing boards, giving instructions.

I went to the last bed where I could see Ari sitting beside Alessio. He was wrapped in bandages in many places. I couldn't stand watching my brother in this state.

I turned to look at Arabella. "Why did you run away, when I asked you to come for a walk Ari? It's because of this, isn't it?" My eyes filled with tears.

"What did you expect me to do, Bella? You attacked Alessio, when all he has ever done is protect you. Even I supported you for anything and everything, but what did you do to my brother huh? You hurt him so bad, that he's on a hospital bed covered in bandages!"she was shouting by now and all the doctors and nurses running around had stopped to stare at us.

"Y..your brother. He's my brother too Ari. I would never intentionally hurt..." I was cut off mid sentence.

"People don't go around hurting siblings. Heck, you're not even our sister!" My emotions were all over the place, I couldn't control the tears flowing down my face.

When I looked at my sister, she looked like she regretted what she said. "Bella, I...."

I turned around and ran out of the infirmary. On the way, I slammed into a brick wall or so I thought it was. The brick wall caught me and sparks flew throughout my body.

Leo.

"Let me go, Leo....please." He put a finger under my chin, and made me look up at him. Looking at my tear streaked face, he frowned and hugged me to him, and I let him.

I cried with my head on his chest. I let it all out, the pain, anger, sadness and frustration.

He held me tighter to him. I didn't know what was right and what was not, but right now being in his arms felt good.

Ari had come up behind us, but I didn't want to talk to anyone right now. Leo picked me up bridal style and held me close to him. I snuggled into his chest, thinking of how sweet it would be, only if he was not with Adriana.
