Isabella's POV
Goddess Luna, help me through,
Goddess, what would I do without you. These lines were something I had been hearing in all the nightmares I had since I was sixteen. They were my mother's words. I don't know how I knew, but I just did.
I woke up in my bed, I don't remember getting here. All I remember is being in Leo's arms. He must've left after getting me to my room.
Someone had left breakfast for me on the centre table. I went to the bathroom and made myself a bubble bath. Discarding my clothes to the side, I laid in the water thinking about all that happened in the past few days, while washing my body off.
I got a glimpse of my mother, Leo was there, not always but atleast at some of the times when I needed comfort, needed him.
It felt good, being close to him. There was this certain calmness that I felt when I was close to him. Maybe he was finally acknowledging me as his mate. Maybe he really cares after all.
"Bella, dear, are you almost done? We need to leave for the academy. But before that, we also need to speak with your family and your mate." Theodora said from the other side of the door, knocking softly.
"I'll be out in a bit." I quickly washed my hair, finished my bath and got dressed.
Theodora was standing by my bedroom door, waiting patiently for me to get ready.
"Why do we have to go to the academy? I'm fine right now and if incase anything goes wrong, there would be some way we can control it, right?" I asked, combing my hair with a brush.
"We cannot risk it. When the darkness takes over, the spell needed to put a barrier between the both of you takes a lot of energy. You can control it, but for that you have to undergo rigorous training. Without that, we won't be able to do anything."
I sighed. We went downstairs, where my mate and all of my family members were summoned. The Beta and Gamma family were present, which meant Elle and Zion were here too.
Theodora motioned for me to take a seat. "I have been meaning to talk to all of you about this. We need to take Bella to the Sanctum Saeculare academy with us. It is very important that she starts her training there as soon as possible. I...."
"You have to take me with you." Leo said with a growl.
"And us too." Elle and Zion piped in.
I smiled at them and looked at Leo, who had his eyes trained on me the whole time. I looked down, not being able to stand the heat of his gaze.
"As I was saying, we will be leaving today. We cannot let you come with us Alpha Leonardo, Beta Michelle and Gamma Zion. It is far too risky for you out there." Theodora stated, looking pointedly at each one of them.
"You cannot be serious! Do you really think I would let Bella leave all on her own to some foreign place?" Elle asked with a serious look.
"You've got to be kidding me! No way am I letting Bella go alone." Zion said at the same time.
Goddess, I love both of them so damn much.
"With all due respect Theodora, we will come with all of you to the academy or else you will not be taking Bella anywhere. I will make sure of that." Leo said sternly.
Theodora looked troubled and deep in thought. After a while, she said, "Very well. You three may accompany us, but be prepared. The academy is filled with people from different places, all capable of a certain extraordinary ability. You will have to train rigorously alongside Bella. Are you sure you are ready for that?"
Three yeses were heard from them. Yayy! Finally, atleast something was good about all of this.
I looked towards mom and Ari. Mom didn't meet my eye and Ari looked at me, her blue eyes looking like big pools filled with guilt and regret. Dad on the other hand, looked dejected and disconsolate. I missed Alessio.
I smiled at the thought of him. If he'd been here, he would have left all of his duties and responsibilities, and decided to come with me.
Adriana was standing next to Leo, clinging to him. She whispered, "Why are they taking her to the academy? Why did you have to say that you wanted to go? Why are you giving her so much importance all of a sudden? Leo, answer me, why..."
"Shut up." was all she got from him, before he got up and walked away, leaving her staring into space.
That oblivious little dumb piglet.
We were sent to our rooms to pack our stuff. We had to leave in three hours. I packed my stuff within the first hour, thanks to the little tricks I could do. Now, what am I going to do with the next two hours.
And that's how, I ended up helping Elle pack her bags and then both of us helped Zion pack his bags too.
Trust me, he had more clothes and stuff than girls did.
We still had about 45 minutes left. So we decided to bake ourselves some sweet treats for the journey. After all, who doesn't love sweet treats?
We were all set to leave. Ari was crying, hugging me to her, saying sorry about all the hurtful things she said to me.
She was desperately trying to make me understand, that it was all of the pent up frustration and anger due to the situation, that she suddenly burst into a fit of anger.
I understood where she came from, she was the best sister I could ask for and still is. I could never have chosen better.
We were just about to leave, when Mary came running over to Theodora. "The journey to the academy is going to have to wait for a month. We have a problem."
