My eyes had betrayed me as always, and I ended up falling asleep in math again.

My head laid flat on the desk until someone banged hard on my desk. I shot straight up with a bit of drool coming out of the corner of my mouth.

"Geez. Every day I wonder how you got into college prep classes, and I didn't" Yui rolled her eyes.

I checked my surroundings when my vision fixed itself. She held her hands on her hips and held one out. "C'mon, it's lunch." I nodded and stretched out my arms, and yawned.

"You could wake me up nicer." I said while yawning. I reached down into my bag, grabbing my lunch. "Yeah, and you could pay attention in class, but that won't happen." I scoffed and stood up. "It's a wonder how you're in the student council." She muttered.

"Shit." I mumbled. Yui looked back at me and gasped. "Your food. What's wrong!" She yelled, causing everyone in my class to make eyes at us.

"I have a meeting for student council today after school. We're supposed to be discussing the school fair. I'm in charge of the budget, and I haven't even started it." I panicked and reached into my bag to grab the budget notebook. Sitting back down, I got to work.

"The president is gonna kill me." I groaned. Yui sat at the empty desk in front of me and pulled out her lunch. "Guess we won't be leaving."

"Please help. I have to do all the club's budget and see how much is left to spend on the fair. This is the president's last year, and he wants it to end with a bang."

I tapped my pencil vigorously on the desk. "Calm down. Who even gave you this job? Your worst subject is math." She said while chewing her food. "The president said it's because I suck at math. He wanted me to strengthen my weakness." She laughed while covering her mouth.

Lunch ended, and Yui had to return to class.

I remained to do the budgets for the fair during class. I can't believe I forgot about my student council responsibilities just because of a volleyball club. I'm not even their manager. Why am I sacrificing this for them? My grip on the pencil got harder. I sighed as my attention was moving down the club list.

"Boys Volleyball Club. Budget: $250 a month"

I widened my eyes. That's it? With all the promise the boys showed this year, I'd think it would be higher. This was stupid! The bus going to and from Tokyo costs just about that. How did they manage to get there? The image of the boys exhausted on the floor flashed in my head. They deserved more than this.

I finally finished the budget and how much we could spend on the fair, and I threw my body back on the same empty desk. "Finally." I breathed out. The bell rang, signaling the end of school. I jumped up, shoving loose papers in my bag, and ran towards the club room.

I'll just show them the stupid banner and head to the meeting. It shouldn't take too long.

Ryu was already waiting there. I breathed heavily and rested my hands on my knees, hunched over. "This has to be fast. I have a student council meeting." I heaved out my words.

"No problem. I'll help you hang it up." I nodded and left my bag near the club door. I followed my brother, who carried the banner into the gym.

"What does it even say?" I asked as I got some string to tie it up. "I don't know. I haven't even seen the other side of it." He closed his eyes as he shook it out.

"You do the rest. I want to be surprised." He gave me a thumbs up and walked away, covering his eyes with his hands. I smiled lightly. A small part of me wanted him to trip cause of how slow he was to close his eyes while going down the stairs.
