I ran home after that. How could I hide this from my brother? It was too noticeable. My hair couldn't conceal this alone. I texted Ryu and gave him a lame excuse.
Y/N: Sorry that I bailed! I suddenly felt really sick. Bring me home a meat bun!
Ryu: Are you home already? Need me to pick something up before I get home? Want me just to go home?
Y/N: No! It's really okay! I think I just need some sleep! Have fun and be safe.
He took some time before he responded again with a thumb up.
I face-planted into my pillow and screamed into it.
I started to feel frustrated with myself for liking it. All my feminism left my entire body when that happened. I should kick him in his shins, but no! I want him to do it again.
I rolled around in my bed like a worm in embarrassment.
I got home and googled how to get rid of a hickey. All of them seemed to have mixed reviews. I just needed to get of this now not in a few days. I sighed and plopped down in defeat on my floor. Throwing my phone on the bed behind me.
It dinged, signaling that I got a notification. I thought it was my brother, so I reached behind me to answer him, but to my surprise, it was Tsukishima.
Tsukishima Kei: Did you get rid of the hickey yet.
I could hear his usual sarcastic amusement through the phone.
Y/N: No, but thank you for asking you creep. How did you even get my number?
Tsukishima: Your brother.
Why would he give him my number. I was taking a mental note to beat him up when he came home.
Y/N: Why did you do that.
It took some time before Tsukishima answered.
Tsukishima: Cause I can and it seemed like you wanted it.
My feminism is leaving the window again. I mean, I liked it, but I didn't know he would do something like that after two times of talking!
Y/N: I didn't.
Tsukishima: Yes you did.
Y/N: You are texting like a kid right now.
Tsukishima: At least I'm not built like one.
I couldn't help but laugh a little.
The night continued with Tsukishima and I texting. It felt really natural talking to him like this. He was actually really funny without even trying. He's a dictionary of insults, but you can fluster him really quickly.
We both wasted the night this way.
I woke up the next day a bit late. I rushed to my brother's room-shaking him.
"Ryu, walk up. We'll be late." I shouted.
"Keep it down!" My sister, Saeko, shouted through the wall.
"Ryu!" I whispered as loud as I could. "Okay, okay I'm going." He rolled over and walked out of his room and got ready in a hurry. I was first to get out of the house and Ryu was out not long after me.
"Why'd you wake up late?" He asked while stuffing some stuff in his bag. I walked slightly ahead of him. My hands holding the other behind my back. "I couldn't sleep." I replied.
He made a humming noise before he started to walk by my side. It was silent for a little bit before he gasped loudly.
"What in the world is that on you!." He shouted pointing at my neck.
I felt like my world stopped. I had forgotten entirely about the hickey on my neck. Shit.
"Uh- Uh. I was just straightening my hair?" I tried to come up with a good excuse but that was all I could think of.
"Is that a question?" He demanded standing in front of me. "No?" He narrowed his eyes on me focusing on the hickey. "It looks like a hickey, sis."
"If it were a hickey wouldn't you think I would cover it up? Right. Think before you accuse me!" He changed his focus from the hickey to my eyes. He looked down on me maybe searching for the answer in my eyes.
"Fine." He turned back around, and I took a heavy breath. I took my time walking behind him. That was super close. I had completely forgotten about it. I can just ask Yui for some makeup when school starts.
Before we entered Ryu turned back and put his arm out in front of me. "You can't come in." I raised one of my eyebrows. "Why not?" He crossed his arms. "They're changing." I crossed my arms as well. "I've seen them shirtless before." I pushed him aside and walked over to Kiyoko.
"Y/N!" My brother yelled just as I reached Kiyoko. I flinched and I turned around. "What?" I mouthed and he motioned for me to go to him, and I shook my head. He sighed and walked towards Nishinoya and started complaining.
Being overprotective is his fault.
"Hey Kiyoko. Are you feeling better." She nodded in response throwing her hair into a ponytail.
"Thank you for yesterday. You were a big help." I smiled, "It was my pleasure." We both turned to the boys, who had already finished changing into their new uniforms. It was the same designs just new. Kiyoko wanted to make sure the sizes where okay.
"They fit right." The boys yelled a big loud "Yes!" She wrote something down in her clipboard and looked back up. "Coach said he wasn't coming to morning practice, so just to have you guys play a three-set game. They all groaned while Hinata and Kageyama yelled in happiness.
I felt eyes on me and looked to see Tsukishima staring at me, and he jogged to the side where his water bottle was and picked up his phone, texting something quickly before jogging quickly back. Daichi separated them into teams. My phone pinged and I reached into my pocket to check it.
Tsukishima: I like that you didn't even bother to hide it.
I looked up from my phone and saw Tsukishima's intense gaze on me. I shot him a nasty look. He smirked and focused his attention back on the net.
He's such an attractive jerk.
