(In Y/N POV)
"Hi Y/N." He breathed out. A small smile formed in the corner of his mouth.
"Ehem." Kageyama pretended to cough and ruined the moment.
Tsukishima's hand quickly returned to his side, and I saw his hand clench. He turned his head away from mine, and I saw the back of his neck get red.
A knock on the door came and the doctor had entered not too soon after. "Oh. I'm sorry I didn't know you had guest. This is some serious information I have to tell you, so I'm going to have to ask you, three boys, to le-" I interrupted his sentence.
I didn't want to be alone yet. I was tired of sleeping and looking out the window until my brother or sister come. They hardly counted as a company. I wanted a feeling of normalcy in here.
"No. It's fine they can hear." The doctor looked hesitate and glanced between each of the boys before he sighed. "Very well." He readjusted his glasses and took a peek at his clipboard before holding it behind him.
"You can all see that her condition is worsening. The roots in her body are growing by the second."
"This is called Hanahaki Disease. It's very common in people in high school and even in young adulthood." He sighed and put his hands behind his back.
"The way to stop all this is by removing the stems before the thorns puncture your heart or for the person you're in love with feels the same."
Hinata stepped forward, "Then why haven't you done that before? Why are you watching her suffer?" Hinata seemed like he wanted to scream. Kageyama placed a hand on his shoulder and he seemed to soften at Kageyama's touch.
"Removing the stems, this also takes away the person memory of the one they love." He took a brief pause. He stared me right into my dead eyes and sighed. "Not only that, it removes your chance of ever loving romantically ever again. The love that caused this will be your last, but you will have no memory of it. I do not like suggesting this." He adjusted his glasses.
I noticed all the boy's moods change. "I think you guys should go outside for a bit," I whispered.
The doctor bowed, "I will repeat this information with your siblings once they get here." He left, leaving the room filled with nothing but tension.
"Y/N, what are you gonna do?" Hinata said, biting his lip back. Kageyama softly rubbed his back, providing him any comfort. I shrugged. "I don't know yet, but it's really okay, guys." I tried to gain control of this situation, but they seem more hurt by this than anything.
"You love her, don't you?" Hinata asked, breaking the unbearable silence. "Admit it!" His voice started to sound like a yell.
"Don't." Tsukishima muttered while still hunched over on the floor. "I know it's hard to admit feelings, but it's better than taking away her ability to love! She'll forget you!" He whined out, stepping around the bed to confront him better.
"Hinata-" I tried to reach out for him to prevent him from doing anything he'd regret, but Tsukishima shot up and stared him down.
"I'm well aware this is all my fault. I beat myself up over it every second of every day. I'm trying my best here...even if my best isn't enough. I'm really trying."
His toned back was facing me. I saw it rising and falling with his unsteady breath. Kageyama appeared behind Hinata and threw him over his shoulder. "Stop picking fights. This isn't your place to meddle." Hinata pounded at Kageyama's back to put him down.
"We'll leave you alone now, Y/N. Thank you for letting us see you. Please get better soon." He said a proper goodbye and walked straight for the door. "I guess I'm leaving too. Bye Y/N! I'll be back soon." He returned to squirming around for Kageyama to let him go.
I looked over at Yamaguchi, who was staring at Tsukishima wide-eyed. He shot me a look and traced his finger from his eye to his cheek. I assumed that meant that Tsukishima was crying.
"Yamaguchi, what am I doing wrong." He sighed as Yamaguchi started to escort him out of the room.
He said goodbye, and all I could do was watch them all leave.
