Thanks for taking a chance on my poems and voting! Enjoy!

Author's note: I have now decided to write a story in the genre of historical fiction Chinese dramas after having watched so many of them, and only liking a few. As a result, I wrote a poem based on the main relationship of the story. Enjoy!

Many eons ago,

I lost my heart.

Till one day emerged a glow,

which made it restart.

On that barren field,

you aimed your bow.

Used to echoes of the battlefield,

I pretended not to know.

Slowly, the silence came to an end,

thanks to you who filled my days with content.

I still cannot comprehend

how time with you seemed well-spent.

I who uttered nothing,

fell for a woman who stood proud.

She was a princess who had everything,

and I, a dull storm cloud.

But I have taken a vow,

that I cannot break.

Love you did sow,

 my heart will forever ache.

So much do I trust in you,

my own life I would stake.

Consequently, I must not provide any clue,

your love for me you should forsake.

Author's note: His vow is a vow of silence. (And he is hard of hearing by the way so the echoes of the battlefield line is a deaf joke. Making fun of himself at his expense.) Basically, he thinks he's not good enough for her because...reasons.

Short film note: I saw the beautiful short film a while back, and thought it fit with the General and the Chieftain's Daughter's story, even though this is entirely a historical fiction c-drama based story. (Story-The General's Cause)
