Thanks for adding this book to your reading list! Enjoy!

Author's note: Found this wonderful arrangement of this song, which I finally listened to it (the song) last night, and felt inspired to write about a scene from a story via poem.

Laying by a serene beach in the South China Sea,

I found you.

On that isolated key,

I began my life anew.

Once you breathed life into me,

kissing me til your lips went blue,

only then I felt free

to just eschew.

All my former plans fell by the wayside,

after choosing to let myself live,

the ocean tides seemed to subside

and stop marking my early grave.

I had lived life like I was dying,

now taking your hands in mine,

I could not stop crying.

Why had I so long had been stuck in this brine?

While I was down,

you were the one that supported me.

Why did it take me to nearly drown

before I could clearly see?

You who sacrificed her life,

and gave up so much.

My love for you is so rife,

I who live but for your touch.

You call out my name,

still I close my eyes and feign.

Not even heaven could claim

to be the cause of the amount of happiness I now attain.

Let me beseech

that you remain my love,

even if we no longer stay on the beach,

and I am banned forever from the sky above.

Author's note: And if you got vibes the narrator might have been apathetic about life or slightly suicidal, well it can interpreted as kinda of poem about choosing to live...at least he found meaning in life, good for him I guess?

Anyways, there is context missing for this scenario, and I have tweaked the lines a bit before posting so there wouldn't be any spoilers, but yeah just remember that even if you relate to the feelings in this poem, this dude...we'll he's not exactly a good dude so there could be more to this poem (and why would choosing to breathe would be 1. more difficult logically/mentally/emotionally 2. require fighting for a miracle) than the interpretation I wrote right now. (Same dude as Falling to Pieces and Forest Fire so yeah.)

And yes...it's inspired by a character that has influenced several of my poems. Idky.

Constructive criticism and feedback always appreciated! Thanks!
