Jack Sparrow

Author's note: To someone who likes Jack Sparrow, an anti-hero so charismatic you gotta cheer for him!

Today, I walk upon the shore.

Distraught at the way things were,

I forgot how things are.

Up ahead, I see the horizon,

Endless as the sea before me,

And as gentle as the ocean breeze.

The birds sing a cheery song,

Tell of pirates and distant coasts,

Of buried treasure beneath the sand

And more that lies in store.

But pirates there be,

Who threaten my dreams

Of castles in the sand

And make a pauper out of me.

Oh, I long to be where adventure roams,

In the distant surf of exotic islands

To sail off on a quest

And brave the world unknown.

Someday, I wish to reminisce on good parts,

And jest of past quarrels long ago,

And set my own course

To the Island of Enchantment.

Author's Note: As you can tell, I am pretty obsessed with Jack Sparrow by the Lonely Island featuring Michael Bolton. This is a poem that is inspired on the song. And if you did not get the reference, the Island of Enchantment is the official nickname of Puerto Rico. The more you know, I guess.
