I grasped the chariot as we headed into the world of unknown. The two horses that pulled Elijah and I made a NEIGHHHHH noise, as the chariot pulled into a sudden stop, causing the two chariots behind us, districts 11 and 12, to stop as well.
"What just happened?" I whispered to Elijah.
He shrugged. "I dunno."
Even though it was pitch black out, I could still see districts eleven's glares, as I looked behind me.
"Sorry!" I whispered. "I'm not sure what's going on!" However, I don't think they heard me.
Just before Elijah climbed out of the chariot, to see what was going on, the horses started moving again, in the right direction.
"What the heck just happened?" I said.
Elijah shook his head. "Who knows?"

After about five minutes of riding thorough complete darkness, Elijah and I finally saw lights, straight ahead. The first chariot, which was the district one tributes, was just entering the city of lights. I could hear how pleased the crowd was.
"You hear that?" Elijah asked.
I nodded. "You know that there always a favorite, district one."
"I know. We're gonna have to change that some how."
"How?"
"I dunno. I'll think of somthin'."
I sighed. District two was just entering as the crowd went wild, once again. They were always a favorite, too.
"Got any ideas yet?" I asked.
"Told ya I'm working on it....."
"Better think of somthin' quick, cause I think district three is pulling in now....."
Sure enough district three was pulling in, with some amusement from the crowd, but not much.
"That better not be us." I muttered.

Elijah and I were close enough to see the giant screens surrounding the outdoor arena, and that district eight was now up, after the female tribute from district seven's incident. The two tributes were dressed up as tree's, each carrying a ax in one of their hand's. The girl was clearly showing off, and swinging the ax over her head, until she dropped it and landed on a capitol resident's head.
"Ladies and gentlemen.....welcome district eight!"
District eight, which was known for it's textile industry, appeared wearing two long, white suits, and long, black boots. Their outfits look like some sort of uniform, perhaps for the textile factory maybe?
The crowd applaud, with a few shouts here and there but nothing to compare to district's one, two, and four appearances. The female tribute, who if i remembered correctly was thirteen, waved and smiled a few times, but looked scared if you ask me. The male tribute was taller and around seventeen years of age, I think. He has the opposite expression on his face of his partner; fearlessness. I couldn't help but notice how attractive it made him look.
After district eight was up nine pulled in, making me realize that we were next.
"So what's our approach?" I asked Elijah.
I could tell Elijah still didn't think of one as the expression changed on his face, from him checking out the girl from district nine in her skimpy, half naked outfit.
"Uhhh well I was thinking...."
"Of nothin'?"
"No......"
"Then what?"
"I dunno....."
"Ladies and gentlemen....I give you the tributes from district ten!"
The horses pulled us forward, as we entered through the giant golden doors. A quick feeling of embarrassment entered through by body, as I remembered what I was wearing.
Now what! I thought...
"Do somthin'!" Elijah hissed.
Both Elijah and I started waving and smiling, at random people when we got a call from Magenta, from the tiny microphones in our ears.
"What are you two doing!" She snapped. "Remember the act!"
"We can't really do it in our cow costumes, though." I whispered to Elijah.
"Don't worry, I got this." And with that Elijah took off his ears and the cowbell that was on his neck, throwing it to people in the crowd. He then blew a couple kisses in the same direction.
I copied Elijah as I threw off my ears, and threw the cowbell to a kid not far from us. He caught it, and sent a huge smile in my direction. I could tell his parents were satisfied, so I sent them a quick wink before the chariot pulled away from them.
"Not bad...." Magenta hissed in our microphones. "But you two can to better!"
"Ladies and gentlemen.....give it up for district ten!" Elijah said imitating Caesar Flickerman exactly. The crowd went wild.
"Well...I'm afraid young Elijah here stole my thunder! Like he said before...give it up for Elijah and Ms. Lia Dalton. The tributes from the livestock district!"
The crowd went wild again, almost like they did with the career tributes. As the chariot pulled into the capitol square, Elijah and I not only got to see the other tributes for the first time, but President Snow himself. He sat up above in his huge king-like chair, staring at the district eleven tributes that were just pulling in. I swear I could hear the snicker coming from Snow, as the crowd showed barely any emotion for district eleven.
"No offence to eleven... but their costumes aren't as beast as our." Elijah whispered into my ear.
I laughed. Ours were somewhat more creative...compared to their plain overalls and straw hats.
As eleven's chariot pulled right next to ours, twelve pulled in. Everyone expected twelve's to be the same old every year; just another coal miners get up. But as soon as they pulled in, all of us knew that twelve was for once a threat.
"What is that?" Elijah whispered into my ear.
" What?"
" That thing coming out from behind them."
" I don't see...." Sure enough something was coming from behind...something like fire.
"What the....."
" Ladies and gentlemen......district twelve!"
The girl, Katniss I think her name was, was wearing a plain, black jumpsuit, that curved around her body perfectly. The boy was wearing one too, only showing his broad shoulders and muscles.
Fire was overlapping the back of their body's, giving their costume even more glitz. The boy whispered something in her ear, and she nodded, holding out her hand. They linked hands, and smiled. The crowd went wild.
"Why didn't we think of that." Magenta muttered in our ears. "They make such a cute couple those two."
I looked at the tributes that were around us, and could see the jealousy in their eyes. No one was expecting this.
"Ladies and gentlemen....give it up for the tributes from district twelve!"
