Sitting on her bed with her legs swinging off, Webby held the photo in her hands, shaking with both fear and shock.

"Granny... lied?" She asked, her voice cracking.

Dewey placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, sitting next to her as his legs also swung over the edge of the bed. "Webby... I'm sorry." Was all he managed to say. If he knew more information on the situation there would be so much more he could say, yet, all there questions went from answered back to unanswered in just one night.

Finally, Webby had gotten the answers she had been longing for since she was just a toddler but after climbing out of a deep mysterious hole, she only fell back in. She thought she was finally on the next step when she fell back down to square one.

"But she would never do it to hurt you... if she lied it must be for a good reason!" He cheered, clenching his other hand in the air beside his face.

Webby stayed silent, trying to hold back the tears that urged to be set free.

Granny lied... of all ducks in the world who could lie straight to her face like that... it was her Granny. That whole story, her father murdering her mother, the photo, the tears, everything... was a lie? No, no. Granny promised she would never lie again, she promised she would always tell the truth. Granny knew everything about her and she knew everything about Granny and her past... right? Surely this was just a prank, surely Dewey mistook the photo. Yeah, yeah that had to be it.

"Dewey... m-my Granny wouldn't lie to me. I know her." She stuttered, knowing deep down inside of her what the real truth was.

"Webby... I'm sorry." Dewey spoke, lowering his head and removing his hand.

Slowly, the tears were set free as one by one, they slide down her face, dripping onto the photo in her hands. Her arm quickly swiped at her eyes, trying to furiously wipe them away but alas, they kept coming. Suddenly, she felt a pair of arms engulf her in a warm hug.

"It's ok, Webbs. It's ok." The familiar voice spoke.

Slowly, Webby wrapped her arms back around the duckling, her tears dropping onto his shoulder.

After a few minutes that seemed to last a lifetime, the two ducklings pulled apart, Webby's tears finally fading.

"Thanks Dewey." She smiled slightly, wiping a lasting tear from her eyes as her gaze drifted from him back to the photo that still lay in her hands.

"We'll find the truth, just like we did with my mom." Dewey smiled brightly, placing another reassuring hand on her shoulder as Webby's smile widened, her eyes lifting back up to the blue clad duck.

She giggled at the determined duckling before her.

He's such a sweet guy... so adorable. She thought to herself, a light blush reaching her cheeks.
