Why Me?

I stretched and popped my back as I headed downstairs. It's my 11th birthday but knowing my luck my cousin will ruin it for me. I've been living with my aunt and uncle for all my life. I don't remember my Mom or Dad just these three royal jerks! I'm sorry but my cousin Bakugo beats me up multiple times a day, my aunt blames me for everything, and my uncle does nothing but watch. Well, sometimes my uncle does sneak me some extra food and candy along with a small toy or two but that's it.

I get halfway down the stairs when my cousin uses his explosive quirk to send me over the railing and straight to the bottom floor. "Move it you worthless Deku." I just picked myself up and use some tissues to clean up my bloody nose. Katsuki is such a jerk, his quirk makes his sweat into nitroglycerin and he can cause it to explode. Aunt Mitsuki has a similair but weaker quirk. I actually don't know what my uncles quirk is.

I walk into the kitchen and make everyone else breakfast as my aunt and Katsuki began to count his presents and then he threw a bloody tantrum. He was mad that the number of presents didn't go up from last year. Uncle had to promise to get him 4 more gifts while we went to the zoo. I finished cooking and setting up the table for them before I take the tiny bit I'm allowed and eat it in the kitchen quietly.

Once we were all done eating I cleaned the dishes and was given my 1 "present". A box of cleaning supplies so I can keep this hell hole of a house clean. They left to go to the zoo leaving me behind so I used my quirk to deep clean the house. My body is able to create ghostlike limbs and I use them to clean, cook, and prank a little bit. There is more I can do but I can't really tap into it for some reason. I don't use it around them as I'm afraid of what they will do if they found out I have a quirk.

After an hour of cleaning I go out and get the mail. I see them returning early cause the zoo was closed. I could have told them it was but why waste a chance at some peace? As they headed to the door I quickly sorted the mail and handed them their respective mail. What surprised me was that I had a few letters. "What you got there Deku?" I looked at him, "I got some mail. I'm just going to read it."

When I tried to head inside he tried to scorch the letters but instead a small force field that didnt feel like a quirks suddenly formed around my hand. This only made Katsuki even madder. He kept trying until Aunt Mitsuki came out and saw what was happening. "Izuku let him burn the junk mail. Also for lying about not having a quirk no supper or lunch today." I looked at her, "I'm not doing anything, the force field isn't my doing and the mail is for me."

Of course she thought I was lying until I showed her it was addressed to me. She tried to snatch them away but I decided to mess with her. Using an invisible ghost hand of mine I have the letters fly up into the air out of both of their reaches. Just to make them thing I wasn't doing anything I hold onto the letters only to get "dragged" across the yard before I'm forced to let go.

I sighed and sat down in the yard. "I'll wait for them to land. Don't have a clue what's happening though. This is really bizarre." They both walk in and Katsuki starts to unwrap his presents. I quickly drop down the letters and open the first one. The first was a letter from the police department asking me to come down to talk to them again. It's been a while since my Mom was killed so I'm curious why they want me there.

The next letter had a note on it, "Open in private and hide this from your abusive guardians and cousin." I quickly hid it and the last one was spam mail. Using a bit of fire from Katsuki trying to burn my letters earlier I burned the spam in the metal trashcan we have. I then walked inside and showed the police letter to Aunt Mitsuki. "They want me to go to the station nearby. I will run and try to return before lunch time." She growled, "You better be back before then or I will let Katsuki burn your ass with his quirk!"
