Chapter Twelve

Our company has no work at 24 in December. I had a chance to go to the shopping mall.
I want to buy some sweets for everyone.
"Where are you going?" He asked me. I combed my hair in front of the dresser. He entered in the room. He was wearing his usual short pants and a shirt that I bought before. I had bought a lot of clothes for him.
"Where are you going?" He asked me again.
"I'm going to the shopping mall. Do you want to come with me?"
"No,I'll rather stay. Take care." He said then he turned the doorknob.
"You really don't want to come with me?" I asked him.
"I'll stay. I'm sure you'll let me carry all your things. " He said and went out. I smiled. Tsk,this man is getting into my nerves.
I went out from the room. I saw him watching his favorite documentary show.
"Where's Mama?"
"Outside." He replied shortly. My eyebrow raised.
" Okay,bye,see you later."
"Bye."
He nodded his head without looking at me. I got my bag on the sofa.
"Go home immediately." He said in a low voice. I laughed at him.
"Yes, father." I said.
"Hey!" He looked at me. I smiled and walked towards the door.
I called my mom and drove off. I want to use the company car however I'm afraid, the company might be thinking I'm taking advantage to the privilege they gave me.
I waited for a taxi.
For about ,thirty minutes I arrived in the mall. There are many people inside and did their last minute shopping. I went to the grocery store to buy fruits. I wanted to make a fruit cream salad. It's my own experiment. I want to try it if it is good.
My phone rang.
"Hello,Ma."
"Belle," It's him.
"Why?"
"Mom said buy a cake." He said coldly.
"I can't carry those things all by myself. If you come with me,maybe I can buy it."
"Buy it."
"I'll try."
"I'm going to bake strawberry cake,please buy strawberry for me." He said.
"Okay. "
"Bye."
"Bye."
I ended the call and did what he said. I bought a chocolate cake and it's worth a hundred. I borrowed a cart so that it's easy for me to carry everything.
Fortunately, there's a taxi when I went out from the mall. The sun is scorching my skin. I have sweat all over my face. I out everything inside and the staff got the cart.
"Sunny Village,Sir."
"Alright."
Then he sped away.
I bought everything.
When I arrived in front of our gate,I saw him standing and seems waiting for me.
"Is that Dr. Raven Hall?" The driver asked me. I was surprised when I heard he knew him.
"How do you know him?"
"My daughter got sick last year and I don't have any money to pay for the hospital bill but he helped me. He paid it for us.  He's really kind." He said.
"Wow. Really?"
"Yeah,he's considered as good Samaritan. Not all people will do that nowadays, but how is he now? I heard he got into an accident last six months ago."
"He's fine now. "
"Good. Yeah,I think so too. He is still handsome as usual. Are you his girlfriend?"
"Unfortunately no,"
The driver laughed.
"Don't worry you'll get the right person at the right time."
"Thanks,sir."
I went out after paying the fare.
"Here's the change."
"No,keep that,Merry Christmas,sir!"
"Oh,thank you,hija."
"Buy good food for your family today."
He nodded his head. I smiled and he drove off. Raven walked towards me.
"You took so long."
"Yeah,we talked for a short time."
He got the box of cake and some plastics. It's still three in the afternoon.
"Did you buy strawberry?" He asked me.
"Yeah. It's expensive."
"I'll pay later."
"No need."
"I know you have big bonus." He smiled. Oh,he has bright smile showing off his one dimple at his left cheek.
"I have. I'm rich today."
"Will you give me a gift?"
"No,why should I ?"
"Greedy woman."
We went inside. My niece and nephews were already playing in our living room.
"Oh,my favorite kids,hello!!" I greeted them. They were both running towards me and hugged me. They put my hand on their forehead as a sign of respect.
"Tita Bella!" They were very happy to see me.
"Did you buy gifts for them?" He said.
"No,"
"Really? Are you saving your money?"
"Yeah."
"I'm getting crazy!" He left first and went to the kitchen.
My father was preparing the big table in our dining room. Our kitchen and dining room are separate. We have big wooden table and a chandelier in the ceiling. It could accommodate 12 people sitting around.
My sister's husband were helping my mom cooking in the kitchen together with my sisters. My brother's family will arrive this evening since he has work today.
"I want to help you baking."
"No!" He said. He started to prepare his ingredients for his strawberry cake.
" Go to the kids and play with them. "
"Nah!! I want to help."
"What can you help? You even  don't know how to do it." He said.
"You can tell me."
"I don't like it "
"Fine,don't call me anymore."
I walked towards my room and take a rest. My gifts were already under my Christmas tree. Our house is getting noisy because of the kids.
"Grandma! Uncle Liam is here!"
Liam is my brother.
"Hello,Uncle Liam.."
"Macky!!" Drix said.
They are really rowdy. Everyone is present so I would expect they will make this house like a market.
I closed my eyes and sleep.
After thirty minutes, someone is kicking the bed. I know who can do this.
"Hey!!" I said as I opened my eyes.
"Your boss is here." He said. Your father crazy man!
I got up and fix my hair. He was wearing an apron.
"Are you done baking?"
"I'm making the frosting already."
"Really that fast?"
"It's 8 in the evening honey."
"Oh,honey,you called me that name?"
"I'm getting crazy. ". He shook his head and turned towards the door.
"Can I see the ring?"
"Ring what?" He looked at me.
"You said you saw another ring in your wallet."
He pointed his wallet on the bedside table. It's true that there's still another ring. It is small and a small diamond cut in it. I looked at the ring.

"Okay." I said. I put it back in his wallet. Not mine. I stood up and fix the bed.
"Faster,I don't like to talk to them."
"Fine. You're cranky again. What's with you?"
"I had terrible headache right now. I don't know why. I took my medicine already." He said while massaging his temple.
"Should you take a rest?" I changed my clothes in the bathroom. When I went out ,he left already.
His parents were outside talking to my father. They definitely are talking about him.
"Good evening,Mr. Hall." I said. The terrace is very bright because of the light that he put.
"Hello,Bella. How are you doing? Merry Christmas!" He said. Mrs. Hall hugged me.
"Hello,hija."
"Hello mom." I replied.
"Where is he?" She asked.
"He's baking his strawberry cake."
"Really? That's my favorite." Bettina exclaimed. Harris is playing with his smartphone. They are rich but they are still simple.
"Hello,grandma." When I saw her getting out from the restroom.
"Oh,Bella. I like your place. Your house is quiet big."
I smiled.
"This is because you give me a lot of bonus every December."
They both laughed. My mother went out from the kitchen. She's still wearing her apron.
"Good evening." My mom greeted them. I introduced her to my employers.
"Thank you so much,Ediliza, for taking care of my son."
"No problem. "
"Well,we didn't bring anything but only this fruits and lechon." Lechon is a roasted pig. It is tasty and mouth watering dish.
My father and Mr. Hall brought it in the dining room. Raven is in the kitchen.
The kids are playing in the living room.
"I taught him how to bake since he always watched before when I  make cakes." My mom said happily.
"I'm very grateful that he met all of you. I'm not sure if he wasn't here,how could he live his life in that situation."
"He's smart."
"Thank you. By the way,we asked Bella if she could continue her studies. We would like to send her to school again. She's not yet late to be a doctor."
"Well,it's Bella's decision. We had serious situation before so she couldn't continue studying medicine. I was sad that time. I want her to be a doctor but I couldn't pay her tuition fee at all."
"Now,we'll make her dream come true ,Ediliza. We are family already. I can't pay your kindness that you showed to my son. Even if forever I'll be paying you with our money,I'm fine with that. Just to make up some time you did for my son."
"No,you don't have to Monica. We will also help her. But thank you. That means a lot to her to finish medicine."
"Mom!!" I said. As if I was not around them,they are talking about me though I didn't agree to what they are planning to do for my life.
"Whatttt???!" They both faced me.
"I didn't yet agree that I will study again."
"No,you should do it."They left in front of me. Harris laughed at me.
" what's that big sister,they are being stubborn already. Seems mommy find a partner in your mom's presence."
"I think so. Let's get inside." I invited him. He nodded his head.
"Yeah,I'll get in later. I want to see the stars. Your place is beautiful. That's why big brother doesn't like to leave this place because he fell in love in here."
"Ahh Harris, do you know about his girlfriend?" I asked him. He looked at me confused.
"Girlfriend? I don't know that. He's private when it comes to his feelings,sissy."
"Okay ."
"Why are you asking?"
"Just curious. "
"I want it's you who will become his wife. I can't trust other women."
I laughed.
"Why?"
"His attitude is terrible and maybe their house would be as hot as fire. He is annoying and cranky."
"And why me?"
"You are like a water."
"I am a fire too."
"What?"
"Yeah." I said.
"But you can control your temper. That man can't "
"He shouldn't marry."
"Yeah. Maybe that's the best thing he should do "
We get inside and he went to the sofa with Bettina. The young lady is talking with Goldy and Prelle.
"Stay with them. We"ll call you for dinner later." I said. I gave him the remote control. He turned on the TV. I walked to the kitchen. I saw my mom and Mrs. Hall watching Raven putting decoration in his cake.
He didn't even care that his mom is watching him. How rude this man is!
"Have you met each other?" I said to his mom.
"Yeah,we did. He looks like my long lost son." Mrs. Hall said. Raven looked at her.
But then he turned his gaze and looked at me instead.
"Are you okay?" I asked him. He nodded his head. He's glancing his mom from time to time. They left in the room.
"I saw her already in my dreams. She's crying in my dreams." He said in a low voice.
"She must be your mother."
"Do you know me?" He asked me.
I stared at him. I don't know if it is the right time to tell him.  My heart is pounding so loud that I couldn't hear anymore what he said. I feel like he's just whispering already at me.
