Chapter Fourteen

I went back to my apartment. I didn't go back home after the incident.
When he left, I followed them. He  was grateful to my parents but not to to me. He was really angry.
I stayed inside my room. I filed a one week leave since I'm not feeling well after the incident. I feel I want to sleep for a long time.
"Bella,get up there. There's no use of crying over spilled milk. Get up and move your ass!" Jonah said to me. I just turned my back at her and put the covers in my face.
"I'll work if I want to." I answered.
"Your boss is calling us many times. "
"It's fine. I'm going to resign anyway."
"Seriously. You should think it many times before you do something terrible."
"I did."
"Bella, go to work now. You are absent for three days and according to the law,three days consecutive leave is bound for suspension. "
"I'm fine."
"You're terrible." Jonah hit my leg.
"Ouch. Leave me alone for once. Just give me a week. I don't want to see anyone."
I got up and pushed them outside. I locked the door. They don't have duplicate key.
I feel I was torn into pieces after Raven told those things to me. I was hurt with all the speculation he told me.
I cried again.
My phone rang. It was Mrs. Hall.
"Hello?"
"Bella, good thing you answered me. How are you? Your dad told me that you didn't go to the office. Are you  alright?"
I cried again. I know I made a mistake.
"Bella,what happened?"
"I would like to resign from my position. I don't want to work anymore and I don't want to accept the good opportunity you gave to me."
"Good opportunity it is. Then why?"
"Mom,right from the start,I made  a mistake in your family. I didn't have any intention to do it but I don't want him to think that I did and I want something in return. "
"Oh,it's Raven."
"I'm sorry but I'll send my resignation via email. Thank you for the kindness and for accepting me in your family."
"No,don't do that,hija. He was not in good condition when he said that. Don't believe him."
"No,I don't want to live my life with full of regrets and disappointment."
"Well,rest and let's talk about it again. Don't decide when you are not stable. Don't be impulsive,Bella."
I cried again. I let out a small sobs.
"Bella,I'm sorry. "
"Mom,I'm sorry too."
"It's fine. Don't worry,Raven can't do anything about your studies."
She said.
"How is he?"
"He's now working. He started today." She said. "Don't mind him. He's happy today. He never thinks of that anymore."
"I feel bad."
"No,he is just upset because he felt he was betrayed by you." She tried to comfort me.
"But seems like he's really angry at me. I would not let our paths be cross again."
"No,don't do that." She said worriedly. "Take a rest now,Bella,then come back to work tomorrow."
"Okay, thanks Mom."
"Good bye."
I put back my phone on the bedside table. I closed my eyes. I want to sleep but I couldn't sleep.
"What should I do?"
I got up and wore my jacket. I want to jog around the village.
Lee and Jonah were eating in the kitchen.
"Where are you going?"
"Go for a jog." I said shortly. I put my black cap on my head.
"Clear your mind." Lee shouted. I nodded my head. I want to do that.
I went to the park. I was wearing my white sleeveless top and a black hooded jacket. I wore my tight jogging pants and a rubber shoes too.
Many people were there too to exercise. I was having two laps when I saw a pregnant young woman who was holding her stomach and her face looks like in pain. I tried to ignore her but when I saw her leg that the blooding is flowing down her legs,I immediately approached her.
"Are you okay?" I asked her.
"I don't know but my tummy is painful. I feel I'll give birth today." She said.
"Oh,no,please hold on. Is this your due date------"
The woman collapsed in my arms. Oh my gosh! I let her lie down on the ground and I called 911 on my phone.
I did my best to get her consciousness back. When she opened her eyes,she has difficulty in breathing.
" Help me."
The rescuer arrived in time. That put her on the stretcher. I took my jacket off and put it on her. She was wearing a maternity dress. I accompanied them to Good Samaritan Medical Hospital.
I forget that there would be possibility that our paths would cross again.
"Please help her"
The nurse assisted them. I went to the counter.
"Ma'am, it's 10000 pesos. "
I sighed. I paid again. It includes the room.
"Thank you Ma'am." I smiled to him. I got the receipt and waited for the doctor to come out from the emergency room.
I was waiting there.
I was standing and playing with my shoes when they came out from the room.
"How is she--?" My eyes stopped when I saw him with the nurse. His face is serious and eyes showed too much anger.
"She's fine. The baby is fine too. She is just stress and malnourished. Eating healthy foods can help her to recuperate and avoid from getting stress again." He said seriously. I nodded my head. "Thank you."
I left and went to the room. I saw her lying on the bed. She's still young. I don't know her story but I know she's been struggling too. Maybe the father of her child might doing some terrible things and made her get stress.
"You can do it." I said as I touched her hand.
I went out again. I saw him standing by the door. His both hands were on his pockets.
"You help again and ask something in return." He said sarcastically. I stopped from walking.
"Why? I never thought you are like that,I have always respect you."he added. My heart is getting heavier with all his convictions.
" Well,for so many years working in my father's company,your money might not be enough so digging other's treasure might be your sideline. You're great."
I turned to him and immediately slapped his  face so hard. It turned to red.
"How dare you to say that to me? I'm not what you think! Don't be too mighty for believing in anything you think is correct because those are not true. You don't have any evidence that can prove that I did that to you."
"You made lie to me. If you're not why you didn't tell me before. If you did,I would never suffer for six months having that damn amnesia. You played with my situation. "
"Fine. Whatever you say. There's no use of explaining it to you. You don't believe me either. Be it. " I told him. I'm crying in front of him. I regret why I loved him since before if he never listened to me.
"When are you going to tell me?"He said.
" I'm going. The most important thing is your fine now. You can get back to your old self. If you don't believe me,fine but I never did it intentionally. I don't want you to be confused and asked yourself with all your questions because if you do,I can't answer them because I don't know you from the very start. I found out who you are when I used your black card. If I took advantage with you,I would never buy smoothie. I will spurge your money to the extent that you have nothing. But I never did. I even returned it to your parents but they said I will keep it for the meantime and give it back to you when I came home. I lied yes but I did it for you. I'm sorry. I would stay away from you from now on. I won't let our paths cross again.  Thank you for not interrupting me. I hope you understand what I say." I answered. I left him. I wiped my tears. I decided to go home. I felt a sharp pain in my head. I went to the waiting shed near the hospital gate. It was very hot in the afternoon and I was wearing my top. I don't have anything to cover my head. I looked at my wristwatch. It's 2 pm already.
My vision is getting blurry. My head is excruciating and I feel the things around me are spinning. Oh what happened? Oh! Let me just go home. I don't want to stay here with him. I never had meals for three days. Maybe this is the result. I couldn't get a hold from the bar.
"Missssss!!!" I don't know who's calling me but I am already in the ground. I saw a lot of cars passing by.
Then it is getting darker and darker. And everything went black.
