Italics- nogitsune's whispers

Oliver

Oliver slowly spun in his seat at the table. His head was rested on his hand and he sighed. He didn't feel like doing anything as the pack scrambled information.

"Melissa was paged for guards from Eichen who were electrocuted," Argent said. "My dad found out there was a break-in," Stiles added. He could hear Felicity clacking on the keys of the computer, looking for the information that was given.

"They barely started rebuilding, most things were destroyed," she said. "Stop," Derek said, "zoom in." She did what he asked and a sigh escaped from him. "Sheriff's car."  "Parrish," Stiles said, "Of course. Supernatural connection drew them together and now he's her guard."

"Or King," Oliver pitched in, standing up. They all stared at him to evaluate as he walked past the centerpiece and into the elevator, ignoring them. He clicked the button and as the doors were closing, a hand slipped through and Diggle stepped in.

"What do you want," Oliver rolled his eyes. "Emotional support," he said. "Did spending time with a hunter change you?" He asked. Diggle shook his head and his hand clicked the Emergency Stop button and the shuttle shook to a halt. Oliver glared at him and he sat down, crossing his legs. "Sit down," he demanded.

He took a big exhaled and sat down in the same position on the opposite side. "Talk to me," Diggle said. "For six months, six months," he repeated, holding up his fingers. "She's been possessed, lying about everything. Since Nanda Parbat, we've been together. She partially possesses Thea, into doing her dirty work. My sister! She's probably- she's the one who set the house on fire." "What house?" Diggle asked. "In Ivy Town, she set our neighbor's house on fire," he explained and Diggle's jaw dropped.

"Then, Thea works with a killer and create animals and Sara gets possessed," Oliver continued. "At the mayor's speech, the stage blows up and people are getting shot at." "Then why did she say yes?" Diggle asked and he held his breath. "I-I don't know. If she actually loves me," he whispered. "She probably knew then had Thea drive the car in to us and get her paralyzed to ensure that she couldn't be Void."

Oliver's nose twitched and he got up, clicking the button for the elevator to finish its trip. "Where are you going?" Diggle asked and he ignored him. When the doors opened, he stepped out and left.

He made his way to the loft and hesitated to open the door if she was inside. When he did, the lights were dim and everything was normal. He looked around before going up the stairs and into the room. Nothing had changed but it felt unusual. It was sickening.

He opened the closet and reached on the top shelf, pulling out a chessboard but a box fell. He glanced at the box that scattered pictures on the floor. He set down the board and crouched down, picking up the mess.

One of the pictures was himself with his dad before the Queen's Gambit and he sat all the way down, leaning his back on the closet door. He grabbed another picture and saw himself and Lydia in the photo booth when they went ice skating.

Oliver touched another picture of Lydia and Laurel in the same booth and he nearly cried. How could she kill her best friend? That's when tears ran down his cheeks. He couldn't hold them back and his head lifted. This was worse than thinking about his sister's death. He was heartbroken. The unimaginable.

He picked up another one and through his blurry vision, it was a picture of Malia, Lydia, Stiles, and Scott on a bench. The other was Lydia that didn't really look like her and he figured it was when she was younger and a girl with darker hair in a photo booth. The same girl was in a different picture of them in the forest and another at a prom. "Allison," he muttered, remembering the stories Lydia had told him and how Scott said she was Argent's daughter and her death.

He sniffled and wiped his tears, shoving the pictures back in the box and putting them back on the shelf. Oliver grabbed the chessboard and went down the stairs, leaving the loft.

Feeling more refreshed, Oliver went back to the lair. He waited for the elevator to open and he stepped out, walking onto the centerpiece, and placed the chessboard on the table.

They all watched him confusedly as he set up the pieces. "Kira, want to play a game?" He asked. "That's smart," Stiles said, "In the middle of a crisis, we play games." "No." Derek said firmly, "Kira's a trickster spirit and the game might imitate a nogitsune's moves."

Kira nodded and pulled a chair across from him. As the white piece, Oliver moved first. The two played quietly as everyone watched impatiently. Even though Oliver was playing with all the skills he had, Kira was still winning.

"Checkmate," Kira said. "That's probably how she's playing," Malia figured. "It would've been precise in Goh, but this is okay," Kira commented. "I wonder what game she's playing in bardo," Stiles muttered.

Oliver glanced at Kira and started rearranging the pieces. "What are you doing?" She scoffed. "Everything was wrong," he said, finishing the placement. He remembered every piece on the board when he and Lydia played.

"Back in Ivy Town, we played this," he began, "and she won." "Exactly?" Argent asked and he nodded. "Lydia's the Queen," Malia said, "She's always the Queen." "Parrish is the King," Oliver said. "Thea, Sara, Kate, and the Berserkers are the pawns." "What about my side, our side?" Kira asked. "How would you position us?" Theo asked.

Kira took a long look at the board, almost falling into a daze. "Scott, the King, I'm the Queen, Malia and Stiles the bishops, Peter and Derek, the knights, Theo and Argent are rooks," she said. "And the rest of you are pawns."

"How do we figure out the other pieces on Lydia's side?" Theo asked. "Another banshee," Peter said. "Meredith." "What about that one lady from Canaan?" Malia thought. "Lenore," Scott told them. "They could be bishops."

"She could use Kate again, she has four Berserkers left," Derek said. "No," Thea shook her head, "she was only a pawn, nothing else." "You shouldn't be talking," Peter glared at her. "I helped kill a friend and I didn't have control of what I was doing; I want to help," she exclaimed. "Me too," Sara added, "I can't forgive her for possessing me and killing my sister but I'll do anything to help."

There was eye contact between Oliver and Scott that he wanted to let them. Oliver didn't care anymore, expressing that Scott should make the decision. "Okay."
