Elle's P.O.V.

We watched as Daryl stormed back over to us from the barn. "What did you do?" Dale asked.

"Had a chat." Daryl growled. His hands were covered in blood. Randall's blood.

"Looked pleasant." I said sarcastically. Daryl grabbed a rag and started wiping the blood off.

"Hes got a group. About 30 men. Gonna stroll through here, all the men will be dead. The women; they're gonna wish they were." He explained. Andrea and I stiffened at that. We knew what it meant. I was a child, yes, but I was educated.

"So what do we do?" Andrea asked.

"Hes a threat, you eliminate the threat." Rick said putting his hand on his hip. I nodded in agreement. It was the best choice. There's no letting Randall leave, because he knows where the farm is. And there's no way in hell we're letting him join us.

"We just kill the kid?" Dale piped up. After some discussion that I easily blocked out, Rick gave Dale the day to have people side with him.

LATER THAT NIGHT

I walked across the field to Daryl's tent. I had nothing better to do and wanted to skin an animal. "What's up?" His gruff voice asked.

"You have a squirrel or rabbit that needs skinning?" I asked sitting on a log next to the small fire. He tossed me a small squirrel and I pulled out my knife. The silence was deafening. The faint crackle of the fire was the only noise to be heard. Eventually, Daryl spoke up.

"Why are you really down here?" He asked. I took a deep breath and put my knife down.

"Are you mad at me?" I asked, looking up to meet is gaze.

"Why would I be mad at you?"

"About Merle." I answered quietly, yet loud enough for him to hear. He let out a sigh.

"I was mad. I wasn't sure if I was mad at you, T, Rick, or if I was just mad he was gone. I'm not anymore though. Merle had it coming." He explained. I nodded and looked up to see Dale approaching us.

"Could you two help me out?" He started. We both had looks of confusion on our faces, so he continued. "They want to kill the kid. Especially Shane."

"Just like he killed Otis?" Daryl asked.

"He tell you that?" Dale asked surprised.

"Dale, even I heard the stories. Otis stayed back to cover for Shane, Shane came back with dead guy's gun. Rick isn't stupid, if he hasn't figured it out by now, it's because he didn't want to." I chimed in. Dale gave me a shocked look.

"Face it, the group is broken." Daryl said. Dale walked back to the house. I decided to follow.

"The meeting should be starting soon." I said giving Daryl the skinned squirrel.

Carl's P.O.V.

Elle and Daryl were the last ones to enter the house. Mom decided that Elle and I were too young to partake in the meeting, so she sent us upstairs to Jimmy's room.
"We should be down there." Elle said.

"This is a human's life on our hands. I don't want to make a mistake." I replied.

"Keeping the kid alive is the mistake, Carl." She argued calmly. What did that mean? "You're probably wondering what that means. Some people are too dangerous. They shouldn't be walking the earth, because they get others killed. I shouldn't be walking the earth." She mumbled the last part. I put my hand on her shoulder and she flinched a bit.

"Is this because of the kid at school?" I asked.

"I killed someone, Carl. A living, breathing person. It was that night at the bar." She said. Her voice sounded like it was breaking, but her eyes weren't welling up.

"They were dangerous. You did what you had to do." I assured her.

"I know." Elle took a deep breath. "Don't tell anyone. Only you, Rick, Glenn, and Hershel know."

I nodded and we sat in silence. We sat in silence the rest of the time. We heard yelling coming from downstairs.

"Why were you in the woods earlier?" She asked, trying to block out the shouting. How did she know about that? "I saw you coming back." She added.

"I just went for a walk." I answered. She nodded. We heard someone storm out of the house.

Elle's P.O.V.

I peeked over the railing to discover the meeting was over. I went and sat on the porch swing. I watched as Rick, Shane, T, and Daryl made their way down to the barn. A few minutes later, Carl was sneaking down there as well. What got into that kid? Glenn stepped outside and shot me a small smile. "Hey." He said quietly.

"Hi."

"You okay?" He asked, sitting next to me.

"I keep thinking about those men at the bar. All Rick did was give me a small nod, and we killed two people. Two LIVING people." I explained while fidgeting with my knife.

"If you keep thinking about it, no good is going to come from it." He said. We looked up to see Rick dragging Carl inside the house. I opened my mouth to speak but was interrupted by a yell. I practically flew off the porch running in the direction I heard it from. It was dark and coming from the middle of the field. I realized it was Dale. I heard people shouting for me to slow down, but no thank you. I ran up to see a walker on top of Dale, ripping his stomach open.

Without thinking, I tackled the walker off of him. I was holding the slim walker back while reaching for my knife. I felt the blood from its mouth dripping on to my face and hair. I grabbed a hold of my knife and stabbed it. Just in time as well, because the rest of the group had arrived. TDog threw the walker off of me and helped me up. Hershel had just arrived to see the massacre.

"He wont make the trip." Hershel told Rick, who was begging him to save Dale's life.

"Glenn, go back and get--" Rick started.

"Rick." Hershel cut him off. Nothing could save Dale. Andrea started crying. Carl looked at the walker and ran to his mom. Glenn came over to me and hugged me. I wanted to cry. I did. But the tears refused to fall. Glenn and I were in a ball on the ground as Glenn flinched when someone had the guts to put Dale out of his misery. Dale and Glenn were close, I knew that.

"Its okay." Glenn and I said to eachother at the same time. That's when I felt a single tear escape.
