I meet with Lake and Victor at the coffee shop. Victor kisses Benji lightly on the cheek to greet him. Lake and I find ourselves a table close to the front to the cash register. A few minutes later Amdrew and Mia arrive.
" Hey Victor get me a smoothie . Strawberry banana. I'm going to need a lot of protein for the next practice. " Andrew says
" Victor it's time for your break. " Benji calls.
Andrew and Mia exit with their smoothies. Lake and I sit with Victor for the entirety of his break. He goes back to work. I walk Lake home and go home myself . I find myself playing Super Mario Maker for a few hours. My phone buzzes.
The notification says @realvictorsalazar has just posted on his Instagram story. The Instagram story consists of a Tiktok of Victor using audio from a show called Shameless . The audio goes : I just what everyone here to know that I'm fucking gay ". I immediately heart the story. I text Victor
Felix Westen: Hey did Mia see your Instagram story?
Victor Salazar: Yes she did
Felix Westen : What did she say?
Victor Salazar: She responds well that explains a lot. I told her and Andrew to meet me at the coffee shop after it closes.
Also Simon saw.
Felix Westen : Who's Simon?
Victor Salazar : A close friend from online. He used to go to Creekwood .
Felix Westen: Oh he's the Ferriss wheel guy. Your parents saw?
Victor Salazar: No but I told them
The next day I greet Victor and Benji right before the store closes. I help Benji clean up so he can go home. Mia walks in and so does Andrew.
" Hey guys.. Glad you came . " Victor says
" So what is there to discuss " Mia asks
" I'm so sorry as you know . I actually kinda came out because to reveal something personal about myself to feel vulnerable and a little embarrassed like how I probably made you feel that night. You don't have to forgive me or even talk to me after this . Also I'd like to apologize to your dad about never showing up to the gathering he hosted. " Victor replies
" And Andrew thanks for not telling anyone until I was ready to say something. You didn't hold it against me. " Victor also says " If there is anything I can do to make it up to y'all I will ".
They both leave. I exit the shop.
" Thanks for helping me clean up " Benji says to me
The next day at school most people applauded Victor for what had happened. When Victor checked Creek Secrets everyone was talking about how they wish they and the courage he did. Also on Creek Secrets was the idea that Lake and I were the new Creekwood power couple.
