The second his name was called my head snapped up. I watch as the small brunette boy smiles, thanking the girl before turning. The second his eyes meet mine his face falls and pales. The look in his eye said more than his facial expression. Corbyn furrows his brow, turning around in his seat. The second Zach sees him he books it out of the shop."Zach wait!" I scramble up, taking off after him. I make it out of the store but he was no where in sight. I look left and then right. He was gone again.
"God damnit!" Corbyn leaves the shop, looking at me.
"Maybe he ran into one of the shops?" I glance at him, nodding.
"Yea let's look." We walked down the small sidewalk, walking into the first store. The only person was a man selling cheaply made t-shirts. I sigh leaving the shop. We checked a few shops, each and every one being a bust.
I sigh, glancing at the next shop of many. We walk in and I immediately frown. No Zach. Just an older woman. I go to leave when a necklace catches my eye. It was of a sea turtle. Zach would look beautiful in this. He loves turtles.
"Your lady will love it." I glance up at the woman, smiling small.
"Actually my boyfriend would." She raises a brow in surprise.
"Boyfriend aye? Why not get it for him?" I glance back at it smiling. Suddenly my smile falls.
"I have no way of giving it to him." I admit. Before she could speak Corbyn interrupts.
"We should keep looking for Zach." He says softly. Immediately the woman perks up.
"Zach Herron?" We glance over at the lady.
"You know him?" She smiles.
"He's a regular. Comes in everyday to chat with me. Should have known there was a connection between you two. He was eyeing that necklace today." She says, glancing at it.
"Oh my god do you know where he is? I've been worried sick." I say, looking at her desperately.
"I don't I'm sorry." I frown, looking at the necklace.
"It's okay. He's a regular you say? Maybe I could stop by and see if he's here tomorrow." She smiles.
"Of course. He comes in every morning around 11 am." I nod, looking down at the necklace.
"I'd like to buy this as well." She nods, taking it out of the case and putting it in a box.
"Take it, free of charge. Fix that relationship okay? He misses you." She says, handing it to me.
"Are you sure I can pay-"
"Take it." I smile at her.
"Thank you. I'll see you tomorrow." She smiles, waving.
We leave the shop and start back towards the car when my eyes land on the rock. The damn rock. I miss all the memories we had from that large rock. Zach and I's first time, the times I found him up there and we'd just talk. All the times we went there to relax. Hell even the time he stormed off when I asked him to eat and he came here. I need Zach back and I was going to get him one way or the other.
