Queen Victoria of Cambridge

February 14th, 1521

A year has passed and today was my twenty-first birthday. I had to beg Henry to not throw a banquet due to the fact I was currently nearly six months pregnant once again.

But not only was I pregnant, according to the physicians and astrologist, but I was also carrying twins.

Mary has grown into a fine little girl, she was now eight years old and a wonderful big sister to now nearly three-year-old Lord Henri and two-year-old Edward, my pride.

Albert, my joy, was now one year old and ran as much as he could without Lady Amelia rushing after him. Last year when Mary gave birth and the child died, I wondered if then Charles would beg Henry for a divorce.

Henry all but offered it to him when Mary announced she would be returning to their country home and that Charles would be staying at court.

But he did not. Earlier this month Mary has given birth to a boy who she has named Francis. Francis Henry Brandon. Henry and Margaret were named the child godparents and Mary couldn't be happier to finally give Charles his 'heir.'

"Vicky." I heard someone say and I looked up from my spot on the day bed and saw Henry standing in the doorway.

My lord and husband. After noticing how distant we have become when Lady Anne Boylen announced to court she was with child and then giving birth Henry has worked his hardest to make it up to me.

"I did not hear you coming. Is everything alright?" I asked as I placed my mark in my book and closed it before I went to stand up.

"You were lost in your book as normal. And no, everything is alright. I have come to see how the planning for the anniversary of me ascending the throne was going." He stated as I finally stood up and stepped towards him.

"Nearly done. I sent for our outfits and they shall be here for the party." I explained as Henry took my hand and kissed it softly. I smiled at him before I traced my finger over his hand.

"How are you? The babes?" He whispered as his hand traveled over my very large belly.

"They are moving around now that they know you are here." I said and Henry chuckled softly. He placed his hand on my stomach and I tried not to flinch.

Though Henry has tried his hardest to mend our relationship rumors have spread that he had a mistress when we announced to the court we we're expecting twins.

"Have you checked on Charles and Mary? How is little Francis?"

"Little Francis is keeping his mother awake at night. I have Mary and Charles we could find them a wet nurse but they refuse." Henry said as one of the babes kicked.

"Mary was very young when your mother died right?"

"Yes."

"I think Mary does not want a wetnurse for the fact she didn't really remember your mother and wants her baby too." I said as I went to stand up and almost stumbled backwards. Henry quickly caught me and smirked softly as he helped me up.

"Take a walk with me?" I asked and Henry smiled as he reached for my cloak and dropped it over my shoulders. He held my hand and led me out of my chambers and down the corridor.

I smiled as I heard the children laughing and screaming as they ran around the courtyard. I heard footsteps and I looked and saw Charles and Mary walking towards us.

Henry and I stopped and the two of them bowed to us before standing up.

"I did not expect to see you in court so soon after giving birth little sister." Henry said and Mary smiled.

"I wished to returned. Francis is in the royal nursery with Albert and Edward." She explained and I smiled softly.

"Soon Edward shall move out of the nursery. My sweet boy is getting big." I said and Mary smiled softly at me.

"You still have Albert and soon the twins." Charles said and I looked at him for a moment before nodding.

After confessing to Charles last year that Albert was indeed his son. I thought after I would lose my head but Charles kept our secret. He still visited Albert nearly three times a week, almost more than Henry does.

"Henry, will you come to prayer with me? We have not gone together since before I was with child." Mary offered and Henry bowed his head.

"Of course little sister. Vicky?" Henry asked but I shook my head.

"I cannot sit for so long now with these two. But say an extra prayer for me." I said as I bowed my head to Henry who smiled at me. He leaned forward and pressed a kiss to my forehead. When he stepped back he offered his arm to Mary and led her down the corridor towards chapel.

When I could not see them anymore I turned to Charles and smiled softly at hm.

"How is fatherhood treating you?" I asked as I placed a hand on my stomach and began walking.

"Tiring. I nearly fell asleep in a briefing yesterday." He said and I let out a small laugh.

"Charles! You really should take Henry's advice and let us get you a wetnurse. I do not know where I would be without Lady Byron or Lady Amelia truly." I confessed as I stopped at a window and looked out to the snow.

"Happy Birthday Vicky." I heard Charles say and I looked over and saw him holding a box.

"Charles-"

"Did you really think I would forget? You are what. twenty-one?" He said with a smirk as I took the box from him.

"Yes, you did not need to get me anything." I said as I opened it and inside laid a royal blue and pearl necklace. I gasped softly as I held it.

"Charles-"

"Blue brings out your eyes. Do you like it?"

"I love it. Thank you Charles."

"The best gift for the woman who gave me my heir." He whispered as he bowed his head to me. I stared at him for a moment before bowing my head back.
