Chapter 4

Toni's pov:

I'm so confused. Was this a date? What happens now?

"Toni?"

"Huh? Did you say something?"

"Yeah I asked if we could go to your place"

Uh oh.

"You know what Cheryl, I really don't think that's a great idea"

Her face dropped, making me feel worse. I really didn't want to reject her, I just don't think I'm ready for anything yet.

"Oh uhm, okay that's ok" she said, disappointed.

"But, I will definitely see you at school tomorrow right?"

I was trying to change the subject and hopefully get out of there as soon as possible.

"Yeah for sure"

"Ok well I'm going to head out but, I'll see you tomorrow"

"Ok-"

I left before letting her have a chance to say anything. It felt so awkward even being that close to her yet, I loved feeling of her hand intertwined with mine.

Cheryl's pov:

I didn't know what I did wrong. Is she mad at me? I guess I couldn't blame her for feeling uncomfortable. I sighed as I watched her drive away on her bike. I missed her so much, I might've gone too far with the hand holding and asking to come over. I didn't want to do anything. I just wanted the feeling of her arms around me again.

I looked around the diner and spotted the Kevin Keller sitting all alone in a both drinking a vanilla milkshake. I smiled, missing him and all my old friends as well, and walked over to his both. When I sat down in front of him, his face went from sad to shocked.

"Cheryl Blossom?!"

"That's my name"

He laughed before the both of us got up and hugged the life out of each other.

"How have you been!" He asked me, sounding very excited.

"I'm good but, what's got you all sad mr Keller?"

I was genuinely asking because last time I checked, Kevin Keller was almost never sad.

He sighed deeply.

"Well, there's this guy..."

"Omg who?!"

This felt amazing, being able to gossip with my gay bestie again.

"It's..Fangs"

I gasped "Fogarty?!"

"Yes" he chuckled a little.

"Omg no way I always shipped you two together!"

"Yeah well, we were together" he said sadly once again.

"Awe, what happened?"

"He says we're too different"

"Ugh Kev listen to me" I said sternly to get his attention.

"Hm?"

"You don't need anybody to make you feel happy, you can find happiness in anything or anyone. Your friends, your family, even a pet. You shouldn't have to rely on someone to make you feel something in that empty hole just, be yourself and if you and Fangs don't work out then oh well"

"You are totally right" he smiled.

I wish I could listen to myself and take my own advice.
