Chapter 17

This is about to be real short and I am so sorry for that.

Cheryl's pov:

"We have to be quiet Bill's we don't wanna wake Toni up" I Whisperd to my son as we quietly walked out of Toni's apartment.

I decided to take Billy out to breakfast at Pop's. We haven't had a day with just the two of us in a while. The divorce papers have been sent out to Jenifer so now I just need to get our stuff out of the house. I've decided to let Jen keep the house, not wanting to fight with her about it. I'm also obviously taking Billy, Jen never cared about him anyway.

We finally arrived at Pop's, Billy already excitedly jumping into a booth. I slid into the booth as well, smiling at my son's head poking up from the table because of how short he was.

"Are you sure you don't want to come sit by me bud?" I asked him.

"Yeah" he assured me, a big smile still on his face.

I picked up the menu and started to browse the breakfast section when I heard the door open. I didn't pay any mind to it though.

"Hi Toni!" I heard Billy yell.

I looked up from the menu, only to see Toni staring right back at me.

"I thought you guys might be here. You weren't very quiet when you left" she chuckled.

"Yeah sorry about that" I looked down, blushing.

"It's okay" she said smiling while ruffling Billy's hair which made me smile. They get along so well all ready.

"I just can't keep trying to fix things with her" I explained to Betty in their living room. Billy was outside playing with Jug.

"Then maybe this is a good thing"

"But what am I going to tell Billy?" I asked on the verge of tears.

"Cher, I think he'll understand. You said it yourself, Jennifer never even paid any attention to him" she shrugged.

I knew I was doing the right thing, but growing up, this is exactly what I didn't want happening to my future child. Because of how bad it broke me when my parents divorced.

I looked out the window, seeing Billy laughing while running away from jug. I just don't want his happinesses to disappear.

I'm so sorry this was short.
I'm trying to get more chapters of other stories out too.
I've been so busy lately and just mentally drained from everything.
School is killing me and I'm failing most classes.
I'm trying my best with everything so just give me time please.
