Chapter 15

No one's pov:

It was a devistating day for a lot of people in Riverdale, mourning the loss of beloved, Archie Andrews. More and more people started to show up. Serpents, past bulldogs, and Archie's closest friends. It was especially depressing for Mary Andrews and Veronica Lodge.

"Hey is Fangs here yet?" Jughead asked Sweet Pea, both of them in black tuxedo's.

"Uh I'm not sure"

"Right here" Fangs says, walking up to the two.

"Alright, there's a couple more people on the list that aren't here yet so let's wait for them" Jug said. He was in charge of the lists, Betty as well.

"Poor Veronica" Fangs said, looking over at the girl who was standing at the podium waiting, silently crying to herself.

"Yeah, ms. Andrew's too"

Ms. Andrew's was standing towards the back of the room, talking with FP and Alice as they tried their best to comfort her.

The door opens, revealing a tired looking Cheryl and Billy Blossom. Billy was in a little tux as Cheryl was in a pretty simple black dress. They went to sit down in the front row.

Cheryl's pov:

"Mommy?"

"What's up Bill?"

"Are you sad?"

I didn't want Billy to know I was sad. Of course it's hard hiding it, but I needed to be strong for him.

"A little bit bud, but I'll be okay"

"Okay"

The door opened, causing me to turn my head in it's direction and seeing Toni walk through. She had on a short black dress with matching heels. Her hair was in a low messy bun with her baby hairs out. I watched as she sat down next to Fangs on the other side of the room.

"E-excuse me. Could everyone quiet down and find your seats  please?" Veronica said through the microphone. I turned my attention to the front again.

Once everyone was quiet, she started her speech.

"Thank you all for being here. It is difficult, at best, to stand before you and attempt to honor Archie in words. It is never an easy task to capture someone in a speech, as words frequently fall short of capturing someone's true essence. In this instance, they fall so far below the mark that I feel it is almost futile to try. So instead of making an attempt, I am going to ask each of us gatherd here to sit in silence for a moment and remember something about this man who touched each of our lives in so many ways"

There was a pause. And a moment of dead silence..

"As I look out into the church, I see both smiles and tears. The tears, although there have been many years of sadness in the past few days since we found out we had lost Archie, are not tears of sadness as you remember. They are tears of joy, intermingled with nostalgic smiles, for the way this man has left a permanent mark on your minds, hearts, and souls"

At this point Everyone was either smiling with tears rushing down their faces, or sobbing, thinking about the fact that such an amazing soul was gone.

"I do know that somewhere, in the vastness of whatever lies beyond, Archie is smiling down at us and wishing us well. We love you Arch.. thank you"

Everyone started clapping after Veronica's great, touching speech, but I felt like I was about to throw up.

"B-betty can you take Billy for a second?"

I didn't give her time to answer, I just lifted him of my lap and onto hers before rushing out, trying to hold back my sob.

Toni's pov:

After the speech I seen Cheryl rushing out if the church. I got up to follow her but Fangs held me back.

"Where are you going t?"

"Just outside for a second, I need some air"

"K"

He let go of my hand and I immediately rushed after Cheryl. Once I got outside, I saw the redhead sitting against a big tree, her knees up to her chest and her head down. I slowly walked over to her and sat right next to her.

"Are you okay cher?" I whispered.

She just shook her head, not lifting it up, and continued sobbing in her knees.

"Come here?" I whispered to her.

She slowly lifter her head up, but quickly wrapped her arms around my neck, mine going to her waist.

"I-I just can't b-believe he's gone TT"

"I know cher, I know..."

I felt my own eyes start to water. Soon enough, I was crying just as much as her. It was a sweet moment, before I heard a voice from behind me.

"Guys?" I turned around and saw jug, his tear stained eyes looking back at me.

I sniffled and unwrapped my arms from around Cheryl, her doing the same.

"Yeah?"

"U-uhm, ms. Andrew's is about to speak"

"Okay we'll be in in a minute"

"K" he then headed back inside.

Cheryl stood up, rubbing her eyes. I stood up as well.

"T-thank you for comforting me Toni"

"No problem"

And with that, we both awkwardly headed back inside.
