Chapter 11

Today is the elimination round for
the song project we finished for
almost 2 weeks. I wasn't hoping for
us to perform again after what
we'll do later, it'll give me more
headache since it might give us
extra time to meet or hangout which
by all means-I dislike.

Sunday just passed by normally,
I finally got away from the pampa-
sakit ng ulo's! Hindi ko manlang
naramdaman ang weekend. Ang
speed, e!

"Naeexcite ako sa performance
niyo!" saad ni Alisha. She's been
telling me this nonstop for a week
now. You shouldn't get your hopes
up, lady.

"Ano namang aasahan mo sa 'kin?
Baka ikaw, total-performer." yes,
she's known as our gem here. Ali
also handles events, last time they
recruited her as the MC. "Sino ba
partner mo ulit?"

"Si Luke, gusto nga daw makipag-
palit sa partner mo e! Tinatakwil
ako. Parang timang." I laughed at
her statement. Brennon once shared
with me how intimidating Alisha
looks, that's the reason why Luke
wanted to switch. As for me, I think
Reagan deserves the word
intimidating more. She's hella insane!
Pag ayaw niya sa tao, ayaw niya. Buti
nalang si Ronnie napunta na partner
sakanya.

We were asked to proceed to the
School Hall for the opening remarks
of our principal, aswell as getting
prepared for the presentation. We
lined up accordingly, things got
awkward when Keyshia sat
beside me. She was busy talking to
Ryan so I didn't mind even a bit. It
made me scared, maybe someone
reported to her that I was with
Brennon.

The principal confirmed how our
help for donations got sent to the
ones in the evacuation area due to
the recent typhoon. And yes, we
are required to sing a part of it
infront. Dang, we were 21 pairs tho.
Ain't that long? Pa-skip nalang kami,
oh! Huhu.

"Sit with your partners now." I
had to search for Brennon in the
crowd, pero tumambad na agad siya
sa harapan ko! He greeted me with a
smile, I refused to make a gesture so
he just sat down.

"Ready ka na?" he simply asked.
I just nodded in response, keeping
the conversation short. The others
were practicing ng pasimple, okay
that's nice of them, we aren't
moving at all nor talking.

I watched dozens of pairs perform
already, nakakasuya na. Sure, I'm
certainly patient but it made me
really sleepy!

"Tsk." I fell asleep yet Brennon
was able to catch my head to stop
me from falling completely! The
second hand embarrassment! He
made that expression, huh! It
showed how attentive he is, he's
lowkey bragging for sure. "What
made you sleep late?" he asked
with annoyance in his voice. It
looked like he got startled for some
reason. "You can rest here.", he
patted his shoulders to show that I
can lean oh them. Um?! Was he
serious again?!

"Waiting like this just made me
sleepy." I shot back. "And, it's fine!
I'll just keep my eyes open silly!"

"Hm, I'll play for you to help
you be awake." he opened his case
to get his guitar. He didn't have to!
I was alright! What the heck.

He started plucking a song,
distracting me from what's
happening at the moment. He played
an unfamiliar song so I just went
and watch his skillful fingers do the
work. How can he?! Gosh. He isn't
even paying attention to his fingers,
he sometimes looks at me and then
shifts his sight back to the guitar.
