The Diary Of A Pandemic Victim

Far away, we laughed at it
The closer it got,
The shallower our laughter rang out
When it got here, we doubted
Debuted it
Continue with our lives
One case
Four cases
Seven
Ten
Fifteen
Twenty five
Thirty
No one is laughing anymore
Those who refused to listen are now begging for help.
Many still don't believe
It's not here
We wouldn't stop going out
The few wise ones have started taking measures
Getting provisions
Disappearing into underground bunkers
My people die because of their lack of knowledge
A old prophet once said
More than a thousand years ago
They are still dying now
For that same reason
I hate to be the prophet of Doom
But many will die
There will be weeping
There will be gushing of teeth
Fear will knock us senseless
While the World thought the Third World War
Will be between the United States and China
In an economic showdown
Instead we get to battle down
An unseen enemy
No known history
No calling address
No IPS
A hovering, roaming enemy
We have to unite to end
Before it ends us all.
I watch as people die around me
Old, young, people like me
Stay away, keep your distance
Self isolation is a lifestyle
It's nothing new to me
As the panic goes sky high
And the panic buying sales out
In the house, in my room ,on my bed
I start imagining
Sometimes the panic is not external
You are both the panicee and counselor
In the midst of all these
I find solace in a Being
Greater than I can imagine
With this calmness
I read, I smile , I laugh
And then I see the news
My heart fault
The smile drains off
And only the anchor
That holds me to Him
Keeps me from falling into despair
Think
Only good vibes
Keep safe
Help others be safe
It will end...someday...soon
