no one's pov
Bucky ruffled Peter's hair and smiled at him before running upstairs like a child. he found Steve in the room with his arms crossed and a serious look planted on his face.
"woah Stevie. why the poker face" Bucky chuckled as he closed the door and leant up against the wardrobe.
"Don't Stevie me. what was that?" he asked as he pointed at the door
"what was what?"
"Don't bullshit me Barnes. You deliberately went against me. I asked Peter to bring healthy snacks and God knows what you told him. You can't become reckless, trying to be the favourite uncle. How about when the baby comes? Are you gonna make me look like the strict boring parent, making her do homework and not letting her go out while you're letting her stay out till late and helping her bunk school? No buck. that's not how this works." he said, slightly raising his voice
"Steve. I'm...I'm sorry I didn't mean to do that to you. it's just that....that I'm scared" he said, holding back a sob
"Bucky. I am too." the star spangled soldier said in a soft voice holding Bucky's hands in his own. "I am too Buck. But we have to do this together. for our little girl. heck for Peter right now. this relationship has to balanced." he brought bucky closer to him, letting him cry softly into his chest. James gripped his husband's shirt as he soaked it with his salty tears.
"I'm sorry Steve. I really am." he choked out.
the door slowly opened and Peter entered.
"hey guys" he said with a soft smile
Bucky quickly got out of Steve's grip, wiped his tears and bear hugged Peter.
"I'm sorry Pete. you should listen to your uncle Steve as well" he said kissing the kid's soft brown curls.
"but you said-"
Bucky quickly covered his mouth and gave a innocent smile to Steve who just rolled his eyes.
"Peter. do you wanna come grocery shopping with me and get some dinner and proper food?"
"Um YES" Peter ran downstairs, bucky following him. Steve rolled his eyes and chuckled as he walked out with a smile on his face
