My palms outstretched in the bay of morn,
Dewdrops that combed my sun kissed exterior,
And the sunlight that peeked upon the sashaying leaves.
The wind that tossed my ebony threads called hair,
The epiphany rushed through my very blood,
As petals brushed my closed lids, caressing me,
It calls to me, my very being wanted to chase the voice down.
Oh! The sweet voice of petals serenading me,
I begged my legs to walk towards it, yet it didn't listen to me,
It only stood in place, buried in the frothy earth,
I could only spill tears as I stood in the light of the sun.
Never being able to go close to the serenade of coated flowers and whispers,
I cried there, only watching as the voices slowly walked the opposite to where I was,
Until blood was the only thing that was spilled,
The petals were still caressing my sullen frame.
But the voices — their voices I could not hear,
It's as if it wasn't there in the first place,
But I knew better, I could still hear it,
In my mind, it's song twisted with serendipity.
Poisoned with dripping venom and spoonful of honey,
Stirred with delicate fragrance and patterns,
Only letting me taste the sweetness for a short time.
Just to leave me craving for more, for more,
Something pushed me to splatter into earth,
My eyelids then snapped open only to see,
To see darkness welcoming me with open palms.
It smiled at me from a distance, beckoning me,
Wiping the tears away, I stood up with pride,
Taking its hand and let it lead me towards darkness itself,
Forcing the serenading petals at the back of my mind,
Not for long, until fireflies conjured my path.
