The moon was high up in the ocean black sky,
It's reflection strikes in the water,
Like a paintbrush, elegant and flowy,
They, the stars whispered their lights,
Upon the ears of sleeping children — or weep,
Do you smell the sillage of the late eve?
My lovely Jane, lover of the night.
The shadows embraced your bent frame,
Wind, its gelid digits touched your face,
And when the sun rose to break the eve,
It burned your soul, scorching hot,
It made you long for the night,
For its coldness and mysterious aura.
