The babysitter - Taekook

THIRTY-TWO

"Wait you're what!?"

Jeongguk squeezes his eyes at the loud shout of his bestfriend. He holds his phone further away from his ear to prevent himself from getting a hearing problem if Hoseok should decide to scream one more time.

"Taehyung and I are together, as in a couple." Jeongguk explains after being sure that his friend has overcome his first shock.

"Oh my god! This is so... oh my god I mean- you tell me that you're about to fall in love with your boss- and then a few weeks later you're suddenly together- I- holy-"

Jeongguk lets out a chuckle at his bestfriend's obvious confusion. "I know it's a bit unexpected."

"Unexpected?!" Hoseok exclaims,"Please, you didn't even tell me that he also likes you- the last time we talked you told me that you think that you don't have any chances with him and - I say it again - that you're about to fall in love and now you're in a relationship."

"Yeah I didn't think that he would like me back. But then we kissed and the next day he confessed to me. It was pretty fast." A big smile spreads over his face at the thought. "But I'm happy. So happy."

"And that's the only thing that matters. Even if it's a big surprise right now." Hoseok says and Jeongguk can hear that he's smiling as well. "I'm happy for you. You deserve it."

"Thanks Hobi!"

"But," his bestfriend speaks up again " I want to meet him, the man of your dreams. Introduce him to me. And I want to see Chansol again. He's so cute."

Jeongguk looks over to the living room where Taehyung and Chansol are. The baby's lying on the couch and Taehyung is hovering over him, tickling his son.

"Do you have time tomorrow? We could meet up after Tae comes home from work." Jeongguk suggests as he walks over to the living room to sit down beside Taehyung.

"Yeah that's a good idea. If it's not too stressful for Taehyung."

Jeongguk taps his boyfriend on the back to gain his attention. The elder stops tickling his son and turns around questioningly.

"Would it be okay with you to go out tomorrow after you come back home from work? I could introduce you to my bestfriend."

After hearing the request, Taehyung's eyes light up immediately. "I'd love to."

Jeongguk reaches forward to place a kiss on the elder's lips. "Thank you." he speaks after pulling away.

"Okay Hobi tomorrow works!"

After talking about the details of their meet-up tomorrow and a few other things, the two say their goodbyes and end the phone call.

Jeongguk sits down again next to Taehyung who's busy feeding Chansol. "I'm tired now." he announces with a yawn.

"Not surprising. Didn't think you could talk that much." Jeongguk rolls his eyes at the comment.

"Haha funny."

"No for real." Taehyung laughs loudly. "You should have heard yourself." Jeongguk raises his eyebrows at Taehyung's remark.

"But hey it's okay. There's nothing better for me than seeing you happy." the elder adds quickly.

Jeongguk eyes his boyfriend suspiciously. "Good save mister Kim."

With amusement written all over his face, Taehyung sends him a flying kiss. "Thanks mister Jeon."

The next day comes really fast. Taehyung managed to come home earlier from work so that he has enough time to get ready.

Only a few hours later, the three are already on their way to the café where they want to meet up with Hoseok.

"Excited?" Taehyung asks Jeongguk, giving his boyfriend a short glance before looking back at the road.

Jeongguk hums. "Yeah, didn't see him for a long time. I only talked to him on the phone, kinda missed him."

Taehyung reaches over to take the younger's hand into his, placing a soft kiss onto it.

"Love, you know that you can always invite him over, alright?" he says softly. "My home is yours too."

As an answer Jeongguk squeezes the other's hand. These are those statements and actions that make him wonder what he's done to deserve someone like Taehyung.

Someone so caring and loving. If you searched "the perfect boyfriend" in the encyclopedia then there would be a picture of Taehyung.

"Thank you."

Taehyung shakes his head at the answer. "No need to thank me."

That's what Taehyung says but Jeongguk does feel the need to thank the elder. Not just for this one thing but for everything.

Even if they had a rough start, Taehyung's house has been a home for Jeongguk pretty soon and he normally isn't a person that gets used to new surroundings easily.

And Jeongguk isn't the person to commit himself to someone that easily. Yes, he was like that sometime in the past. But after his boyfriend's death it changed.

He really felt like everything was over. Like there wouldn't be a better time again. He felt numb and empty. Just like Taehyung has felt after Baram's death.

And that is the reason why Jeongguk was never able to blame Taehyung despite everything hurtful the elder said. Only because Jeongguk knew exactly how Taehyung was feeling.

And maybe this was also a reason why he fell in love with the elder in such a short amount of time - because not only Taehyung got help but also Jeongguk.

The younger has lost so much with the death of his boyfriend. The more time passed the more it seemed like he got a lot better from the outside, but deep inside he was still hurt. Needless to say, it did get better but it still wasn't how it should have been.

There was this hole in his heart that needed to be filled.

It was like he was waiting. It felt like he spent all his time waiting for something to happen. And then as he stopped to expect that anything special could occur, something definitely did happen.

He met Taehyung and Chansol and those two managed to bring the smile back onto his lips. The real smile, the one that comes from the heart.

Taehyung and Chansol gave him back the kind of happiness that he's thought he could never feel again.

And only in this short time he gained a family. He has the biggest treasure someone could have.

All that when he thought he wouldn't be allowed to feel this way ever again. This makes Jeongguk believe again. Believe that after every storm the sun will shine.

And Jeongguk knows that he has a reason. A reason to never stop fighting against everything bad that happens. A reason to hold on and endure the pain that life brings.

And this reason is the two people in this car with him. Jeongguk knows that he will forever protect them at all cost.

just a little filler chapter. originally i wanted to put the meet-up with Hoseok also in this chapter but then it would have been too long. i hope you liked it nevertheless!
