The babysitter - Taekook

THIRTY-SEVEN

Jeongguk sighs as he tries desperately to close the buttons of his shirt which isn't an easy task as his fingers are shaking due to his nervousness.

It was his first day of work - he had phoned Yugyeom the day after his conversation with Taehyung and the other had told him all the details.

He's really looking forward to it, god he nearly couldn't even wait until the d-day arrived. But now that it's here he's utterly nervous.

Suddenly he feels two hands softly pushing his own away and closing the buttons in a swift motion. Jeongguk looks up at his boyfriend who's already staring at him.

"Don't be nervous love, everything's gonna be alright." Taehyung says in a comforting tone. He pulls Jeongguk into a tight embrace, rubbing soothing circles onto the other's back.

Jeongguk presses himself closer to his boyfriend, needing the comfort and warmth that radiates from him. He breathes in the familiar scent that helps him calm down.

"Tae?" Jeongguk murmers as he turns around in the older male's embrace so that they're both able to look into the mirror, Taehyung's hand around the younger's torso and his chin on Jeongguk's shoulder.

Taehyung hums as a response. "You gonna wish me the best and think about me from time to time?" Jeongguk turns his head a bit to look into his boyfriend's direction.

"Of course." Taehyung speaks while placing light kisses all over the younger's neck. "I always think about you. And I know that you'll do well today. There's no need to be nervous."

Feeling a bit better and less nervous, Jeongguk places his hand onto Taehyung's that are still on his belly and turns his head again to capture the elder's lips.

Their kiss is soft and to Jeongguk, also reassuring. He knows that Taehyung wants to take away all of his nervousness and anxiety and it works.

As they pull apart Jeongguk leans back in the elder's embrace, enjoying the moment while it lasts.

Nevertheless and much to Jeongguk's dismay, he doesn't have any choice and he has to get going now if he doesn't want to be late.

With one last kiss, he takes Chansol with him and is just about to leave the house as he's stopped by his boyfriend. "Darling, please remember that you'll do well okay? Enjoy your first day! I love you."

Jeongguk smiles as he puts his hand on the elder's cheek and softly caresses it with his thumb. "Thank you." he whispers and kisses Taehyung on the lips.

With a wave of his hand, he finally leaves with Chansol in his arms.

Jeongguk smiles proudly as he and Chansol leave the café a few hours later. His first work day went well, really well.

All of his co-workers are extremely nice and he also gets along well with Yugyeom.

So he really couldn't be happier. Everything seems to work out for him finally.

If it wasn't for Chansol in his arms, he'd probably skip home happily but as he can't do that now, he hums instead. The male's so lost in his thoughts that he doesn't see the lamp that he nearly ran into if a hand wouldn't have stopped him.

"Do I need to come with you everywhere you go to make sure that you're safe?" It doesn't take Jeongguk five seconds to recognize the familiar deep voice that always manages to get butterflies into his tummy.

Jeongguk smiles brightly at his boyfriend, leaving a hasty kiss on the elder's lips. "What are you doing here?"

"Searching for you of course." Taehyung beams sweetly at him. "I made lunch break earlier so that I'm able to catch you when you leave work."

Jeongguk's eyes go wide after hearing his boyfriend's words, making Taehyung chuckle at the side. The wide eyes and the slightly open lips show him once again what a beautiful man the younger is and how lucky he is to have him as his boyfriend.

"I thought I could walk with you for a while and you could tell me about your first day." Jeongguk nods happily, agreeing with the idea immediately.

"Thank you thank you! I nearly exploded not being able to tell anyone." the younger exclaims. Taehyung chuckles once again at his boyfriend's cute exaggeration.

"Let me carry Chansol a bit, so you can let your arms rest." Taehyung offers, already reaching over to take his son into his arms.

They begin to make their way along the sidewalk, Jeongguk explaining his entire day to Taehyung, using his hands while talking what makes him look unbelievably cute.

He tells about his customers ("all of them were sooo nice, Tae!") and his co-workers and that he absolutely loves his job already.

Taehyung only looks at him fondly, feeling his heart beat faster with every move the younger makes. How could one make such a beautiful and innocent being like Jeongguk make sad?

Well, Taehyung can. And he hates himself for that. And suddenly he feels his heart weighing heavy in his chest. Taehyung caused the younger to be sad so many times, he probably even cried because of him.

Taehyung could hit himself for that. But he knows he sadly can't change the past but he definitely can make things different in the future. And that's the reason why he asks Jeongguk if he wants to go on a date with him next weekend, only them two. An entire day together.

And seeing the younger's eyes light up at the suggestion, Taehyung's heart makes a jump. Only to see this happy expression on his face, Taehyung would do anything.

The older male will plan this day out so that they'll have the best date ever. That's what Jeongguk deserves. This and so much more.

And Taehyung is ready to give him everything.
