FORTY-TWO

With an exhausted sigh, Jeongguk settles himself into Taehyung's bed. He leans against the headboard, hugging a pillow close to his chest. Jeongguk burries his nose in it, taking in the comforting scent of his boyfriend.

He's feeling a weird mix of tiredness and inner restlessness due to the events earlier. Jeongguk was so scared. Scared of decisions Taehyung could make in this heated situation.

And he's worrying a lot now. It's shown him that Taehyung's still hurting a lot and that he's only acting so tough in front of him. He'll have to be a bit more careful around the other and show him that he's always and without exceptions there for him.

Jeongguk knows the best that it takes really long to be able to deal with the immense pain such a loss causes. So he'll give Taehyung all the time he needs to heal and get better. And he'll be there for him, every step of this long way.

Jeongguk smiles brightly as he sees Taehyung pushing the door open with his foot and closing it in the same way afterwards. He has two cups with hot chocolate in his hand, grinning just as happy as his boyfriend.

In Taehyung's eyes too, you can clearly see the exhaustion of the last hours that he spent worrying but it's also obvious that he's happy again right now.

The two males decided to stay awake a bit more since they both won't be able to fall asleep at the moment. Taehyung suggested to make them hot chocolate to warm their tummies and to get them tired.

And Jeongguk loves this drink so who would he be to say no. Taehyung sits down on the bed beside his boyfriend. Jeongguk puts the pillow aside so that he can take his cup in his hands.

"Thank you." Jeongguk puckers his lips, signalling his boyfriend that he wants a kiss. Taehyung chuckles but complies either way. He pecks the younger's lips before he starts to shift around to get into a more comfortable position.

Taehyung also leans against the headboard of the bed, Jeongguk placing his head on his shoulder and snuggling into the junction between the elder's neck and shoulder while Taehyung puts his arm around the younger.

It's perfect like that - without worries and next to his lover.

Crazy. That's how you could describe the way his life has changed in only a few months.

From a lonely young man to having the best boyfriend and a wonderful son. Needless to say, Jeongguk always wanted to have a child but he just didn't expect it to be that soon.

But he doesn't mind a bit. He loves Chansol so much - he can't even put in words how much - and he's so happy to have him in his life.

And Taehyung, he brought the light back into his life. He's shown him what real love is. With Taehyung by his side, Jeongguk feels like he could do anything.

Yes, Taehyung does have his flaws like he could see earlier but honestly, who does not have them? No one is perfect, and one doesn't need to be.

And Taehyung has endured a lot in the past months so why should he expect the elder to act any different in such a situation like only minutes ago.

"Our date still stands, right?" Taehyung speaks up after taking a small sip of his hot chocolate and putting it on the nightstand afterwards.

Jeongguk nods immediately, giving the elder his cup so that Taehyung can place it on the nightstand as well. "Of course. I can't wait till weekend." Taehyung chuckles lovingly before he leans down to place a longing kiss on the younger's lips. "Me neither."

"I love you, Jeon Jeongguk, with everything I have. I really do." Taehyung suddenly says as he looks down at his boyfriend and caresses his cheek softly. "And I know that I often say stupid and mean things like earlier to you, but please know that I really really love you. And nothing can change this. I want to be a great boyfriend to you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He places a short peck on the younger's forehead before he continues.

"Because of you, I am who I am now. You've shown me the bright side of life again. You taught me to love my son, you broke down my walls. You've saved me, in all ways possible. And that's something that no one and nothing can change. You really are my saviour, my everything. We haven't been together for a long time now but I already know that I want to stay with you forever. I never want to lose you."

Jeongguk bites his lip to contain himself from breaking out in tears after hearing this. "Tae, I've cried enough for today please I don't have any more tears to shed."

Taehyung chuckles, staring down at his boyfriend. With a loving look on his face, his eyes wander from Jeongguk's beautiful eyes over to his nose until they halt at his lips. And then Taehyung leans down, connecting their lips once again.

They both pour everything they have in this kiss.

As they pull apart Jeongguk whispers softly, "I don't know what I should answer you. I can only say that the same goes for you. I want to stay with you and Chansol forever. I don't want to lose you. I love you so much."

Taehyung shakes his head softly. "You don't need to say anything, darling. I only wanted to get this off my chest after everything that happened today. But you being here with me is enough."

They kiss one more time. After all the fear he experienced earlier, Jeongguk feels the need to be as close as possible to his boyfriend.

Nevertheless, the two males pull apart and Jeongguk lays his head onto his boyfriend's chest, enjoying the warmth radiating from him.

"Do you want to watch a movie?" Taehyung asks softly. The younger male nods as an answer, as good as it's possible with his head lying on his boyfriend's chest. But Taehyung gets the message.

He switches on the big TV that hangs on the opposite wall. "Can we watch 'Money Heist'? Jeongguk lifts his head to give his boyfriend a pleading look. "I wanted to watch this for a long time and now is the perfect opportunity to watch it together."

Jeongguk doesn't need to ask one more time as Taehyung starts to open netflix and search for the show immediately with a "Whatever you want."

Having Taehyung as boyfriend is really a blessing, Jeongguk thinks to himself.

And just like that, the couple spends the next few hours until Jeongguk falls asleep on his boyfriend's chest, feeling safe and loved.

i'm sorry that this update took so long but i had lots of stress because of school and i wasn't home yesterday so i didn't have enough time to write! but now i have a one-week holiday so i can relax a bit :)

and i'm really sad that i have to say this but this story will end soon :(
this is my first story so it holds a special meaning in my heart even though it's far from perfect. buuut there are still a few more chapters to come and i already have a few ideas for bonus chapters in my mind!
and there's already a story that i want to write once this one's finished, maybe you want to check it out then :)
