This happens after the chapter Human, about two years afterwards. So it's after season 9 but before season 10.

Lloyd lay in bed, exhausted. The Sons of Garmadon were just taken down, and Harumi was dead. Lloyd wasn't over what she did to him, he was still hurt, but he was getting better. He knew it, he was going to be alright.

With a grumble of annoyance he got out of bed, changing into some casual clothes. He went over to the kitchen of the Monastery. Right, the Bounty was destroyed. He winced at the memory, seeing his friends get crushed still haunted him.

Lloyd looked into the kitchen and saw his family, eating breakfast. Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane, Nya, Misako, and Wu. He sighed when he noticed Morro wasn't there.

Morro had been avoiding them and Lloyd understood why. He only talked to Wu or he'd talk to the others when he needed to. Once, he felt pains in his stomach and asked Lloyd about it. Morro had hesitated but he managed to ask. Lloyd knew what he meant, Morro was feeling hunger pains. Apparently after not eating for all those years it was catching up to him.

Lloyd had told him what it was and cooked some noodles for him, Lloyd knew  Morro loved them even though he shrugged afterwards and muttered a thanks. It was rare for him to ask questions, he'd usually try to figure out things himself.

"Morning, greenie machine! We saved you some." Cole pushed a plate with a pancake and fruit in Lloyd's direction.

"Thanks, but I had another idea." Lloyd picked up the plate and smiled, shrugging off their confused expressions. Wu seemed to know and nodded to his nephew.

Lloyd turned and walked by Morro's room. He hesitated before knocking on the door.

"Who is it?"

"It's Lloyd."

Morro paused. "Why are you here?" His voice was soft, he was obviously confused.

"I brought breakfast." Wu made sure Morro was fed, Morro never admitted if he was hungry or something. He'd never joined the ninja for a meal, so Lloyd figured this might make him feel better.

"I'm not hungry."

Lloyd sighed and opened the door, a Morro was sitting on his bed, his hair a mess in his face. He was in his pajamas. He looked like he just woke up.

"I said I wasn't hungry." He muttered but his stomach growled once he pulse smell and see the pancakes.

Lloyd chuckled and sat down beside the former ghost, handing the plate to him. He picked up the fork sitting on the plate and and ate, ignoring Lloyd. When he was finished, Lloyd took his plate and put it on the dresser.

"Thanks." Morro mumbled. "Why'd you bring me that?"

Lloyd shrugged. "Why not?" He sighed. "It's been two years. You've barely left this room, let alone had a meal with us."

"So? Wu talks to me. He tells me how you guys are doing, he said you couldn't sleep most of the nights from nightmares. How can you stand being in the same room as me?"

The green ninja closed his eyes, trying to forget his nightmare. It had been simple, it was just a memory of when Morro blew him into the river and he'd almost drowned. "Because I have to get over my fears. Remember what I said on Day of the Departed? That everybody deserves a second chance? I meant it. I'm going to give you that chance."

Morro didn't say anything. He didn't know what he had to say. He couldn't just say thanks and accept it, he did something terrible and deserved some sort of punishment. Lloyd had to be mad and wanted something, Morro was just waiting for Lloyd to spill what it was. "You have to want something."

"What do you mean?"

"Revenge. I hurt you most out of everybody, shouldn't you want revenge?"

Lloyd shook his head. "Never! Morro, why would I want that?"

Morro rolled his eyes. "Because I possessed you, tried to get you to kill your friends, tried to curse Ninjago, I-"

Lloyd cut him off by placing a hand on his back. "That's not what I want at all. I want to get to know you, I want to help you. Tell me, do you ever get lonely in here?"

"I guess.." he mumbled. "I normally read." Morro pointed to a bookshelf that had a bunch of books on it. They were a wide variety, from easy to read books to the thick kind even Zane didn't read.

Lloyd went over to the shelf and pulled out one of the smaller ones. It only had one sentence for page and seemed super simple. There was a bookmark halfway through, showing that Morro was reading it. He turned to Morro who was red in the face and looking away.

"Shut up.." Morro mumbled. Lloyd sat down on the bed next to him and turned to the page he was on.

"Why're you reading this? Boredom?"

"Sure." Morro snatched the book and closed it.

Lloyd grabbed one of the bigger books and paused at a word he didn't know how to pronounce. "How do you say this?" He showed the book to Morro.

Morro's face turned to full confusion. "Which one?"

Lloyd pointed. "That."

"I don't- I don't know."

Lloyd looked over and realized he'd pointed to the wrong word, it was a simple one. Even Lloyd wasn't the best with pronouncing big words and he could pronounce it.

"Morro, can you read?"

"Of course I can!" Morro snapped. "Just not that.. word."

Lloyd put a hand on Morro's shoulder. "There's nothing to be ashamed of, you were dead for so long, it would be understandable."

"It's stupid, I loved reading before I died and I did it when I wasn't training, then in the Cursed Realm I had no books. We also didn't have them in the Departed Realm, I forgot how to, okay?" Morro's face was even redder in embarrassment. "I spend my time trying to figure it out myself."

"I can help you!" Lloyd smiled. "But not this book, this is too boring." Lloyd closed the big one and rolled his eyes at the title. "1001 types of medicines. Bleh." He put it back on the shelf and grabbed a smaller one.

The boys spent hours together. They'd read, tell fun stories, read, then tell more stories. It was great bonding time, Morro would admit he had a lot of fun with the green ninja.

"Lloyd, lunch is ready!" Misako called from the kitchen.

Lloyd's stomach growled, he had skipped breakfast and was pretty hungry. He pulled Morro to his feet. "Come on."

"Wait what? I don't eat with you guys, that hasn't happened before."

Lloyd rolled his eyes and grinned pulling the former ghost out the door. "Not today, today you're eating lunch with us!"

Morro was glad to have bonded with one of the ninja. The others would follow, eventually.

A/N

I'm thinking of doing one of these with each of the ninja, by that I mean Morro bonding with them. I don't know, I guess I'll see what happens. Have a great day/night and stay safe!
