It was Peggy. ALWAYS Peggy. That's all your husband, Steven Rogers seemed to think about.

You'd do your hair up in some way and he'd go off in a tangent of how Peggy used to wear hers.

Wearing dresses was another thing you just didn't have a habit of, but when he'd walk in and see, he'd talk about all the different things Peggy used to wear BESIDES sweatpants all the time.

Cooking and cleaning was a whole different problem.

"Peggy did it this way."

"Peggy did it that way."

It was driving you insane.

At the beginning of your marriage you thought it was cute. But as you had been married 2 years now, it was starting to get deeper into your nerves.

Yesterday was the last straw.

Natasha came over to see what you were doing. You handed her the stick, with a positive result in it.

"(Y/n)..... That's awesome!"

You just nodded and hugged her.

"Have you told Steve?"

Lowering your gaze to the ground, you shook your head no.

"Why not?"

And that's when you let it all out.

You told her how you really did love Steve, very deeply. But he always put Peggy in the slot higher than you, making it seem like you couldn't do anything right. What would he say when he found out? Would he just go off saying how Peggy would have raised her kids?

Nat reassuringly told you how he would probably be too happy about it to think about Peggy. You smiled and thanked her for coming over.

Steve's day had been rough. Stark wouldn't show up to meetings, Fury was still keeping secrets apparently and Bucky was locked up in a freezer. The LAST thing he wanted to do was come home, but he knew it would all be fine in the morning.

The front door opened later than usual, to reveal a very tired looking Steve. On these days, you knew to do your things in a quick, silent and efficient manner.

You quickly took off his coat, to which he glared at you.

"Back off (Y/n)." Steve barked as he turned around furiously, then continuing his way towards the kitchen to get the dinner you had prepared.

You flinched a little, fighting back tears, but you took a deep breath and continued as though nothing had happened.

You had prepared the meal as best you could, having visited Peggy herself for tips on how she cooked it. After many "Just do it how you think you should." And

"Steve will love you either way."

She finally told you exactly how to make it.

Peggy was very kind to you as you visited her many times. In fact, she was the first one to see the test results. You explained how Steve was always putting you below her, to which she replied,

"(Y/n) Rogers. Don't you ever believe that we are not as sisters. We are equally trying to live life to its fullest, and we may stumble sometimes. But don't you quit. Don't stop trying. I am cheering you on today, tomorrow and forever."

You walked into the kitchen with confidence, dishing yourself a plate of food and sitting next to Steve on the small dining table you had.

You were wearing an old army dress, which Peggy had helped you made to look like hers once had.
