3rd Person POV

Zari (eating sugar cereal), Ray (holding a paper in front of his face), and Brooklyn (eating strawberries and whipped cream) are in the kitchen

Maddie sits on Brooklyn's lap, facing the table. Maddie looks around at everyone while bouncing her little hands on her lap

"So when are you leaving again?" Zari asks Brooklyn, taking another bite of her cereal and continuing the conversation they two girls had been having

"Jax is picking us up tonight." Brooklyn says. "Gonna spend a day or two with him and then come back."

"Cool." Zari says

Footsteps and conversation sound down the hallway

"You can't let Rory keep the diary." Ava says as her and Sara walk in

"I see you've met Garima." Zari says. "What she lacks in vocabulary she makes up for in personality."

"And everyone knows that a happy Mick is better for the entire ship." Ray says, pulling the piece of paper away from his face to reveal a mustache

Maddie starts crying. Brooklyn pulls Maddie from her lap, turning her around and hugging her while patting her on the back and she slowly calms down

"That was amazing." Zari says, referring to Maddie's reaction, with a laugh and Brooklyn laughs as well

"Killer 'stache." Sara tells Ray

"You think?" Ray asks. "I had Gideon stimulate my hair follicles to grow it overnight. I read in one of Nora's letters that she had a thing for mustaches, so I--."

"Sorry, but how are we all being so blasé about the diary?" Ava asks as her and Sara come over and sit at the table. Ray gives Zari a look before grabbing the cereal box to see what she was eating. "What if Rory goes from writing sci-fi to horror? Do you want killer clowns running around the ship?"

"The only killer on this ship is the amount of sugar in this cereal." Ray says, reading the box. Brooklyn pulls up her shirt a little so Maddie could latch onto her. "Big Easy-O's?"

"They taste like beignets." Zari says, eating the cereal. "So sweet it makes your lips pucker."

"Oh! There's a quiz on the back." Ray reads. "Who is the most prolific serial killer in the United States?"

"Ted Bundy." Ava shoots out immediately. "Although in my opinion John Wayne Gacy had way more victims than he confessed." Everyone looks at her. "What? Everyone has their hobbies."

"Well, sorry, Ava, but according to this not-so-kid-friendly cereal, the answer is New Orleans' own Marie Laveau." Ray says

Ava grabs the box

"What? A high-profile female serial killer?" Ava says, looking at the box. "No, I would have heard of her. The box is wrong."

"Unless..." Sara says. "Gideon?"

"You are correct, Captain." Gideon says. "It appears a Fugitive is on the loose in New Orleans in 1856. According to local lore, there were a series of murders perpetrated by a criminal who could walk through walls."

"Sounds like we're going mindhunting in the Big Easy." Sara says, getting up. "Gideon, plot a course."

***

"All right, Legends." Sara says on the bridge. "Next stop, N'awlins." Everyone crowds around the console with Maddie on Brooklyn's hip. Everyone but Brooklyn and Constantine were in time period outfits. "We have a Fugitive serial killer, and it's a weird one."
