3rd Person POV
Zari, Brooklyn, and Sara walk through the Time Bureau with a zombie on a chain leash. Zari holds the leash as the group walk down the halls. Since the Time Bureau was filled with people walking around, Brooklyn wears a hat over her head and her hood to conceal her identity from the few people that had passed by
The zombie mumbles and growls
"Yeah, that's what they all say." Sara says
Ava turns the corner and the group meets in the middle
"Oh, hey, ladies. Is he any trouble?" Ava asks
"Slam dunk." Sara says. "Honestly, with Neron gone, catching fugitives has never been easier. I thought it was gonna take all week."
"That's great. It means you won't have to miss book club tonight." Ava says
"That's right...Book club." Sara says. "Uh, Brooke and I are so excited."
"Wait what?" Brooklyn whispers to which Sara elbows her in the side
"We're excited." Sara repeats, forcing a smile for Ava
"Whoa, smells like somebody hasn't showered since birds were letters." Nate says, walking over. "That's a hieroglyphics joke."
"Ha, nice." Zari says awkwardly. The zombie grumbles some more. "Whoa, buddy, don't talk with your mouth full, am I right?"
"Mummy's are the biggest dummies." Nate says awkwardly. "Hey, you big dummy, mummy, got your containment cell all set up, and we upgraded you to a king-size sarcophagus."
"Oh, and would you like a wake-up call from the front desk in, I don't know, about a thousand years?" Zari says
Nate and Zari laugh
Nate clears his throat
"Bye." Nate says, taking the chain leash from Zari
"Bye." Zari says
Nate leaves. Zari nods to herself with a smile before walking away. Brooklyn turns to give Ava and Sara a look
"I mean, what the hell was that?" Ava asks
"On it." Sara says
"Yeah." Ava says
Sara and Brooklyn walk over to catch up with Zari
"Z, how's it going?" Sara asks
"It's going super awesome." Zari says
"How are you and Nate?" Sara asks
The three see Nate chase the zombie and grab the leash aagin
"Ah, Nate Dog? It's, uh, it's going totally great, in a super platonic way." Zari says
"Then why you guys being so weird?" Sara asks
"It was that awkward, huh?" Zari whispers
"Even the mummy thought it was awkward." Brooklyn tells her
"Look, I mean, you like him, right?" Sara asks
"Yeah, I think so, but I don't know what the next step would be." Zari says
"Oh, that's easy." Sara says. "You just jump his bones."
"What if I do that and it screws up our friendship?" Zari asks
"Look, Z, sometimes for the good of the relationship, you have to put yourself outside of your comfort zone." Sara says. "For instance, I am going to read 500 pages of some trashy novel by tonight for Ava."
