Chapter 19 - Nip/Stuck

3rd Person POV

"If Neron wanted John dead, he would have killed him on the spot." Sara tells the team on the bridge. Brooklyn chews her fingernails with her free hand that wasn't around Maddie as they talk about Constantine's fate. "He must need something from him. We have to find them before he can get what he wants."

"Who knows what he's doing in Ray's name or his perfectly grass-fed organic butter body?" Nate says

"If Haircut's even there." Mick says

"We don't know that Ray is gone." Zari says

"Look, everybody just breathe." Sara says. "Gideon's already on it."

"I've attuned the magic-o-meter to Constantine's frequency." Gideon announces. "When he uses his abilities, I can zero in on his location."

"And what do we do till then?" Nate asks

"Stress eat." Zari suggests

"Drink." Mick suggests

"Yeah, how'd you lot survive until now?" Charlie asks, taking a swig of her flash

"Look, until we get an alert, we wait." Sara says

"Right, we wait." Nate says. "I gotta go clear my head."

Nate leaves

Classical music plays in the lab as Brooklyn (with Maddie) and Zari walk in

"Huh, I always took you to be more Springsteen than The Rite of Spring." Zari says

"It's not for me." Nate says, turning the music off. "It's... I read that classical music is good for babies."

"Interesting." Brooklyn says. "I think I would go crazy if I played classical music for Maddie all the time."

"Well, this is very, um, impressive." Zari says, looking at the glass container where the golden egg sits

"Yeah, I found a book about dragons in Constantine's collection." Nate says

"The egg must incubate under the mother at her body temperature lest the egg expire." Zari says, reading from the book. "Yeah, I'm not gonna sit on that thing. Brooke?"

"Hell no." Brooklyn says, shifting Maddie to her other hip. "I already did the whole pregnancy thing once."

"Well, I figured as much." Nate says, turning on a lamp. "That's why I got a heat lamp. We have to do everything possible to make sure nothing bad happens to this egg."

"The egg's gonna be okay." Zari tells Nate. "I know it."

"Wait till Ray sees that we have a dragon." Nate says

"He's gonna love it." Zari says

"I've picked up an alert with Constantine's magical signature." Gideon announces

"That's them." Nate says and the three run out and to the bridge

"The signal is coming from 1. 3 million years ago." Gideon says as the group convenes

"That's the Ice Age." Nate says as the group sits down and pulls their harnesses down

"He's in the part of North America that would come to be known as the Donner Pass, named after a doomed group of settlers in the 1800s who resorted to cannibalism after their food supplies ran out." Gideon says

"There is such thing as too much exposition, Gideon." Sara says, piloting the ship

The waverider appears in the Ice Age and lands in front of Constantine and Ray-Neron
