TW: Alcohol and triggering events

After this morning's fiasco and a huge line to even get a shower, we were ready to go spend the day in Dallas, per Nick's request. The plainly worn tank top and jeans were my effort for today, which was good enough. I had wrapped Tommy's sweatshirt around my waist and put on my shoes, heading out the door.

"So, Nickypoo, how do you feel that you're now 19? Sill got 2 years 'til you can drink, loser."

"So do you, Kira. You choose not to follow the law." Wilbur pointed out.

"Well, y'know sometimes, you could choose not to point out the laws."

We walked around and went into a couple different places, Nick leading the pony show. At lunch time, he led us to this place called Buffalo Wild Wings. Apparently they sell beer and wings. Now, this could be drumettes, but who knows.

We sat down at the bar, leaving Nick, George, Wilbur, and Clay to talk together. We were the only non-adults here, so it was so much easier to talk.

A guy came around to serve us, easily noticing the British accents.
"Are these drumettes?" He nodded and put down a order for them, passing our Pepsi's.

"I'm surprised you two didn't order any beer. You're obviously of age."
I didn't realize that we could get beer.
"Yeah, we'll both have one." Tommy spoke up, with the guy pulling out the cups. I leaned over to whisper in his ear.

"What happened to no alcohol?" He smiled.
"I might as well try it."

To put it bluntly, his light weight ass got extremely drunk with 5 cups, which is a fucking lot of beer.

He leaned on me as we walked home at 10 at night with the rest of the guys. He started slurring and hiccuping 2 cups in, and he didn't stop, but what did I expect?

I plopped him on the couch and grabbed some sweatpants and a shirt to change into, standing outside the bathroom waiting to make sure he didn't barf.

He came out pulling the shirt over his head, leaning on me once again.

"Don't move." I said as he laid down on the couch, mumbling nonsense.

Once I changed I snuggled up next to him and pulled the covers over, hopefully to make him sleep, which it did not do.

"Kiraa." He slurred, messing with my hair.
"Yes?"

"You are the love of my life and my best friend."

I stared at him, as he looked at me, waiting for an answer.

"I'm sure I'm not. Because you'll eventually find someone so much better than me, and we'll never talk again."

He kissed me softly, and disagreed with me. "I wouldn't be able to break your heart."

He held me against his chest and hummed Strawberry Fields Forever, my favorite song.

"I love you." I whispered before passing out.

"I love you too."

3:47 AM

I woke up and looked around the living room, the pitch black being disrupted by the light coming from the other bedroom.

It would have to be Wilbur, since Clay and George were bunking on inflated mattresses in Nicks room. I got out of Tommy's grasp and walked to the door, opening it slightly.

"Will?" I whispered, watching his tear stained face pull up from out of his palms. "Wilbur, it's okay, what happened?" I asked, pulling him into a hug.

He pointed at the floor. What laid there was a small promise ring inside the box.

"I made Niki hate me."

"No you didn't, it's okay." I picked the box up off the floor and looked at the ring. It was a plain sliver ring with the date they met engraved on it.

"Wilbur, give this to her when you get back, I'm sure you didn't do anything."
He pulled this phone out and showed me a text she sent an hour ago.

Wilbur, I love you so much, but I just need time apart

"Wilbur, she doesn't hate you. Something probably happened and she needs to think."

He looked up at me gave me a small smile.

"Just text her and say you understand, and that you love her." I said, leaving him.

I got back on the couch and laid there for a couple minutes, before looking at my phone.

Niki- Tell Wilbur I love him. My Mom isn't doing well, I just need time apart.

So that was it. I'm not surprised that something happened. It's sad that something happened, but I at least understand it. Having someone close to you that isn't doing well sucks.

I turned back into Tommy and shut my eyes, letting the darkness of the room and my thoughts engulf me into a far away sleep.
