{this is a really long chapter, but it's so good! I absolutely am in love with it! I've gotten so much inspiration recently, and in the past I wrote down some ideas, so I'm using those a lot more!}
Heels clicked against metal floors, lights flickering every twelve seconds, as they always did. My mind wandered for a few more clicks and flickers. Sun gold orbs burned at the walls, veins filled with deep anxiety. Dark ruby optics dimmed as we walked, silent until she broke the barrier.
"Something on your mind, sis?"
I didn't respond as I was conflicted. I wanted my relationship with Shockwave to become... more. And with less and less Autobot activity recently, Darkbolt and I felt very tense. What were they planning? I was worried the most about Shockwave.
"Lock-"
"Sorry." I tried to be back in the moment. "I'm just a little nervous about the silence, I mean... no Autobot activity... it makes me anxious."
"Me too, sis. Me too." Darkbolt's voice was raspy, full of an almost rage against the words I spoke. "But there is something else on your mind. Something more intense, I can almost touch it."
I cursed under my breath, had I made it obvious? "I want something more with Shockwave."
"More? Like... a kid, more?"
"Oh shit... no, no! Not until there's a possibility." My optics dimmed. "I want to go further. Shockwave does so much for me, I want to do the same for him. I want to fight for him. I just don't know... how to ask him the question..."
The femme had to be smart to understand those words, in the moment, I fiddled with my small bun anxiously.
"You're telling me you don't know how to ask a scary scientist to be your sparkmate?" I nodded, blushing with embarrassment. "And you're an assassin."
"Yes?" I was only making myself more miserable.
"Honey, you used to be better with talking to people. Better than me. You never used to be so... unsure of yourself."
It was true.
We finally found ourselves at the main bridge, optics meeting before we walked in. In the room, we stood, awaiting Megatron's newfound information. Barricade nudged me, another nervous surge brushing through my veins.
"Did you hear that?" The cop motioned.
"No."
"You're to be on the next patrol, alone, tonight."
Wonderful. "Oh." Was all that actually came out. I spoke up suddenly, "Has there been any activity?"
"No. The autobots have been silent for days. They're planning something, nothing good either..."
Optimus was hiding something from me that night, I should've known...
The calm before the storm.
Moments had passed, the Decepticon queen's ruby orbs glaring daggers into my spark. I assumed she was ready to leave.
"Come on you small disaster." I laughed mentally, she would definitely kill me later. "We can't do much til I go on that mission. If autobots come out of hiding... maybe they were waiting for us."
"You're right. Before your mission though-" she stopped me, placing a hand on my shoulder of which she struggled to reach. "Tell him."
You can do this...
I rose a hand to knock on the door to Shockwave's lab, spark pounding instead, letting my hand fall as I impatiently paced, anxious to do anything.
Come on... why can't I fucking do it?!
