A week later...
An abandoned energon mine came into view as I exited the swirling green and blue portal. Relics, old, those of autobot signatures, had yet to be discovered. My brother, Megatron, and Shockwave beside me as our feet met with rough soil.
"The cave is unstable; we need to be careful. Any blaster shot could make the ceiling give out." Shockwave's voice was deep, an inaudible huff came soon after.
Megatron remained to my side, in a condition like this, he would do whatever it took to protect me... as I was an heir to the Decepticon throne.
My golden optics dimmed as we settled deeper into the cave. I noticed fractured energon still clung to the walls. "Starscream did not remove all of the energon."
"As we suspected. Which means there is an even greater danger to us. Energon is very flammable."
My brother was correct, and Starscream took energon, our scarce sources of energon, all to himself. He was selfish.
As we walked deeper into the cave, Gold orbs met with sapphire and ice; a couple Autobots, Wheeljack and Bulkhead. I came to a halt, Megatron and Shockwave slamming into my back, causing us all to clamber to the soil.
"Get your fat asses off me!" I screeched, the sound of a charging up blaster filled my audio receptors. I gazed up, features met with the glow of the Autobot blasters. Megatron shoved Shockwave from the top of him, tackling the Autobots. "Brother...?"
"Shockwave get out of the cave, I'm right behind you." The words reminded me of something I had heard once before. "Run. Run and don't look back. Get her to safety." His words were strict, my optics narrowed as I struggled to get myself to my feet.
"No, brother I shall not leave you." Shockwave grabbed my waist, yanking me with him while running. A grunt escaped my lips as I struggled from his grasp. The light from the cave exit approached.
A rumble startled Shockwave, he stopped in his tracks when the cave roof came tumbling down. Rocks blocked the exit, causing me to gasp with deep terror. He let me go and caught the ceiling. Slamming into the ground harshly, everything had gone dark.
I stirred, audio receptors ringing, golden optics slowly opened as I felt a slight ache in my side. I managed to turn over, gazing up at Shockwave, who continued to hold the ceiling, his optic met with my frame as I, again, struggled to get to my feet.
"Shockwave...? What happened?"
The bulk mech heaved a groan, his joints aching with a slight... creak. "Lockout, just...rest for a little longer..." I could tell he was in pain.
I refused to do nothing. Standing, I pulled at the rocks, caving them in, seeing an opening slowly appearing. At the same time, my body grew weaker. It was painful, and I struggled to pull out the rocks.
Golden orbs flickered with a harsh red glow.
"Stop!" He cried; his voice full of concern. "You need to stop. Lockout, you're the only one who can get us out of here! Try harder after you gain back a bit more strength."
Collapsing to my knees, I nodded. "I know, but if I stop, and your legs give way, then we will be stuck here, or worse. We could die."
He let out a breath, glancing away from me. A light shone through, onto my armor before the entire rock wall caved out. Gripping shockwave, I tucked and rolled with him out of the cave, not soon after as we tumbled down a grassy hill, him landing on top of me, my arms at either side of my helm, golden optics met with his.
A dark sapphire blush flushed over my cheeks. My sun-yellow orbs widened, clearing my throat, he finally removed himself from atop me. "I apologize." He bowed his head in apology.
"Don't." Gazing at the mech for a moment, the grass beneath me felt soft and silky against my frame. I lay for a few moments, enjoying the feeling until Shockwave was unsure what I was doing.
"What are you doing?" I stood, gazing at the mech.
"Just... was enjoying the grass." I looked to the caved in energon mine. "Do you think Lord Megatron will get out of there?" Worry struck my tone of voice.
"I do not doubt that your brother may have gotten a groundbridge back. We should not abandon him though. As me and Starscream would take leadership if Megatron had been crumbled."
I leaned against him, my spark aching. Shockwave's arm wrapped around me; his gaze fixated on my emotions.
It would be okay. It had to be after all.
{I think this chapter was decently good. It leaves off on a cliffhanger (sorry), but it is decently really good. I hope you all enjoyed it. I am so sorry for the delay, I will try to post daily again or weekly. I got in a ton of words for this chapter, more than most chapters so sorry if it was long. I loved the end though. I like how I made Shockwave more of a concerned, caring character. He's strict, boring, logical, cruel, YES. But he also needed a soft spot. So I gave that to him. Same with Megatron. Hope you all loved it just as much as I do! <3 Locky}
