The rooster head walked glumly home. Home is such a funny word right? There are many phrases telling us home is where the heart is. Yeh it's meant to be somewhere you feel loved and you belong. Huh? That's the literal opposite way I'd define the house I live in.

He kicked a can it went flying through the air. Smile and everything will be okay! Stupid fucking phrase don't ever believe it. Smiling doesn't solve any problem it just helps to keep up an act. An act that makes it look like your not breaking inside. That makes you feel even shittier about yourself cuz the more you fake it the more you realise how broken you are.

That's why he admires Kenma so much not because he is super cute and hot. Even though that's an added bonus but because he doesn't care. This may sound like a negative thing but it's not he can make it so that he doesn't care about a comment that a stranger says. But he also takes on board the criticism and ups his game plan. The way he can study people and already tell if its worth listening to or not. However despite his hard shell you can tell that he does care about a select few people and even if Kuroo was forever friend zoned he would be happy to be part of it.

He smiled to himself then went to pick up the can he had kicked. Littering is bad kids (I'm starting to sound like my teachers). As he picked up the tin he noticed a pocket sized A5 leather bound black book. He ceased it and began to inspect it. Was it fate or was it just the author? He would never know. He pulled the rope tie off and flipped through the pages to see ever single one was blank. Suspicious. He did a 360 to check if anyone was there. But no it was just him in the deserted street. He slipped it into his pocket and threw the can into the garbage and walked to the house.

He jammed the key and he heard a click as he entered. Were they home? He shut the door softly just in case amd walked to his room. Then it was like the world told him to fuck off he heard his parents.

"Listen here you whore." His dad screeched

"What the fuck to you want me to do you bastard." He heard his mother cry over.

This was normal right? For parents to fight all the time. I mean whose parents didn't yell at each other twenty four seven or come home drunk and slap each other or ignore there only son to only accidentally hit or slap him. What parents don't get high all the time and leave sometime unexpectedly for days leaving their child with no money to starve... of course the Nekoma captain had a job he had started work at 10 so he could buy equipment for school and uniform. Yeh his family was a totally normal one.

A tear slipped down his cheek when he remembered the first time he found out that parents weren't supposed to do that. He had went over to his childhood best friends house. They had walked in obviously Kuroo had protested just thinking about what his parent would do sent a shiver down his spine. Especially if he had come home early or brought a friend home unannounced. Then when his kitten's parent jumped out and began cooking and smiling. His first thought was WTF. They had invited him to stay over for dinner too. They were too nice and they weren't anything like a Tsundere like Kenma and instead they had allowed there child to be whoever they want. But they just must be one parents like this. When he began to have more friends he found out the truth which was that his parents were different and not the other way around.

"You good for nothing piece of waste of space who caused us to have the mistake!"

Yep he was that mistake his parents referred to. The truth is he was he wasn't meant to be born but here he is. The boy in his red volleyball uniform put his bag to one side and sat down to feel an object in his pocket. Oh yeah the book. Maybe he should. If I do I need to make sure no one ever finds it though. They'll think I'm a freak if they do and leave me. So I shouldn't... if I don't I may explode. So the black haired boy grabbed a silver pen and scrawled in calligraphy on the first page...
