A few days had passed.Bob's death really affected the group, as each death was getting harder and harder to deal with, especially when it was their own family suffering.
Bonnie was the first to rise every night and day since Daryl had left to go find Beth, leaving the church at the crack of dawn each morning.
She trudged silently through the woods around the church, searching for Daryl's traps to see if he had caught the group some food.
She was exhausted after spending most nights thinking about what Eugene had said, not thinking it would have that much of an effect on her, though it did.
She knew that in this new world, there was no time for happiness as anything could happen.
Each day could very well be your last and Bonnie could not imagine doing that to someone she loved, someone like Daryl.
She noticed when she first arrived at the prison how closed off and quiet he was, like he was too afraid to get attached to people because of the very reason Bonnie feared.
Bonnie sighed as she went by Daryl's traps, spotting some caught rabbits and squirrels, though nothing else.
The blonde made her way back to the church, by now the sun had risen higher, emphasising the passing of time, as she carried the groups meals back with her.
She had begun to worry about Daryl and Carol, though tried her best to push the thoughts to the side.
As Bonnie emerged from the tree line she spotted Gabriel stood out the front of the church looking like a lost puppy.
Her eyes settled on a truck that hadn't been there when she left this morning and she felt her heart skip a beat with hope "Everythin' okay Gabriel?" Bonnie called as she walked over to the scared man and he only nodded his head.
Bonnie looked at him with furrowed eyebrows before she walked into the church "I have lunch and dinner." She called, not noticing the presence of the man she had missed so much the last couple of days.
"Guess my traps work a treat, huh."
His voice caused Bonnie's eyes to snap over to the church piano and a bright smile appeared on her lips as she seen him in all his glory.
She placed the rabbits and squirrels on one of the pews before she walked over and wrapped her arms around him tightly, though realised that there were many eyes on them she began to pull away, but Daryl's arms snaking around her waist stopped her.
"Are you okay? Where's Carol? Beth?" Bonnie mumbled frantically and Daryl cleared his throat "Carol got taken before we could find Beth." Bonnie pulled away and dropped her arms at her sides as she pushed her hair out of her face.
"W-What? By who?" She asked quickly as an unknown person moved just behind Daryl.
Bonnie noticed a young boy just past Daryl "Hi, I'm Bonnie." She sent him a kind smile and he nodded in return "Noah." He replied before turning and going back to tearing the piano apart.
"Are you a'right?" He asked her, eyes roaming across her body to search for any bumps or bruises causing Bonnie to smile and chuckle "I'm fine Daryl, no need to worry 'bout me."
"Daryl!" Bonnie and Daryl turned around and spotted Frankie with a wide smile, running towards them with her arms open wide. As the little girl reached them, Daryl scooped her up into his arms "You're back!" She exclaimed and he chuckled with a nod "Yeah I am."
"We're goin' to get Beth back, I know where she is, the same people took Carol." He mumbled to Bonnie as he lowered Frankie back to the ground, the little girl leaning against her Aunt.
"When are we leavin'?" She asked him and Daryl looked at Rick "Soon." Rick replied and she nodded her head as her eyes settled on their leader "Alright, I'm coming with you." Bonnie turned and went to walk before a hand stopped her.
"Nah, you stay here with Michonne and the kids."
Bonnie scoffed as she look up at Daryl "No I'm coming, that girl was the first person to welcome me back at the prison, so I am coming." She sternly spoke, eyes flicking between Rick and Daryl.
Rick looked at the blonde proudly, he had taken to her in a brotherly type and she was growing everyday before his eyes.
Daryl couldn't help but nod, he knew that there was no way he could stop her "Okay, go grab your stuff we're leaving in thirty." Bonnie nodded and looked down at her niece "Come on." She whispered and they walked towards their stuff.
Daryl watched the two blondes as he folded his arms across his chest, he had missed them both.
"She'll be fine Daryl, she can handle herself." Rick clapped Daryl on the shoulder before he walked out of the church.
Daryl followed suit, Rick was right, but he could not help but worry.
