Sometimes, though extremely rarely, gods and goddesses are born without powers. Sometimes they appear at a later age, but usually not. When a god is born without their powers, they are banished from Olympus. They can only come back if their powers appear and they do something heroic to earn back their birthright, but that also rarely happens.
Melaena Adair and Laraline Niobe. These two girls are two of the only thirty-seven gods to ever be born without their powers, but, unlike most, they got their powers back at the age of eight. Also unlike most, their mothers took them both down to Earth to raise them, teaching them the ways of the gods, and after they got their powers, teaching them to be gods.
By this point in their lives, the girls didn’t care if they ever got back into Olympus or not. Their mothers, after some deep thought and consideration, decided to send them to their demigod camp as soon as they got their powers. They taught the girls how to act as if they were legacies of their parents and not gods, and they taught them all the correct powers to and not to use around other mortals.
The girls continued to grow and strengthen their abilities for another six years before they were approached.
