He waited for her call entire day. She said she would be busy so he didn't bother her by calling and waited patiently for her call thinking she would call him when she is free. But that dreaded call never came. When it was almost 8 o'clock at night, he decided, he would call her. The ring was going on but instead of her hello, he heard the automated voice of AI asking to leave a message.
Flashes of memories appeared in front of him of the night that she stormed out of his surprise birthday party that she finally successfully organized. She was going to drop him at his house after their birthday date. They went up to stairs and right when he was about to invite her inside, all of his friends screamed "HAPPY BIRTHDAY". He was surprised, genuinely surprised and couldn't help but fall more in love with this girl who always goes extra on his birthday making him special and blessed. She had invited all his friends and family to his place and prepared everything for that night so that his birthday would end with fun and excitement.
Little did she know that this surprise party would bring more surprises to her and it would not be as pleasing to her as her surprise was to him. When he saw that she heard him talking with Samantha, he went after her, but she already went outside and without even a word but just anger on her eyers, she went inside Ri's car. He tried to call her several times but she didn't pick up the call. He did try to contact her several times. He called Rianne several times but she got angry at him and did not respond to him afterwards. He thought that she must have went to Nepal without telling him but then he saw her one day out of nowhere and she went on her own way without even looking at him. He thought it was for good and he deserved it but today after such a long time, hearing her voice tugged something in his chest. He wanted to see her, speak to her and stare at her all day long. He didn't realize that he missed her so much until today. He thought he was over it but his heart still long for her presence in his life.
He checked his phone again but no calls or texts from her. He opened his call log and dialed her number one more time.
"Hey, Ri do you know anyone named Aaron?" Lumanti asked her best friend who was preparing meal for their movie night.
"Who?" responded Rianne with surprise in her voice.
Rianne and Lumanti were best friends since their kindergarten days. They have never parted and even when they went to Uni, they decided to go to same one and shared the same dorm room.
They have been with each other for everything that happened in their life from their first heartbreak to their first achievement in life, they were there for each other. Even when they pursue their individual love and careers, they always made time for each other. Lumanti was visiting Rianne at her apartment for their usual movie night.
"Aaron? Do you know him?" Lumanti pressed again.
"Aaron B Shrestha?" She scowled.
"So you know him? Aaron B? Is that why I call him B."
"Wait, wait? You have already talked with that asshole."
"Umm yeah, its his birthday. Asshole? Why? He sounded nice."
"How do you know it is his birthday?"
"He told me."
"He called you? But his number is blocked on your phone"
"No, actually I called. And I only found out later that it was one of the blocked numbers." Then I unblock him. She didn't mention that part to Rianne though as she was already furious that she called one of her blocked numbers.
"Why? Why did you call him." Rianne was getting impatient and concerned at the same time.
"Because there was a reminder to call him," She mentioned timidly, "I don't know. I felt like it was a chance to know more about things or people I have forgotten. And I was thinking I can talk to him to know more about it."
